fun fact Lance won't even be old enough to have a drink until after the draft lol.

he's only 20 and doesn't turn 21 until may. That's pretty wild.

That is crazy! I don't blame him for coming out now considering the Covid situation with his team, but maybe he should have transferred and played at a higher level next year.

I don't need to see anymore of him at FCS level and I'm willing to take a punt, but it would have been nice to see him take over at Ohio State or in the SEC.

I like that he's super young, you're not gonna play him yr 1 and you know he's not even scratching the surface. As long as he goes to the right roster/coaching staff he will have a pretty good chance to be good

I actually see Zach Wilson that way, more in that mold of a Playmaker.

Lance is hard to pin, I still think Dak is the closest comp.

If a guy is willing to do it himself, that's great. I think Mustache guy from Jacksonville did, and it improved his net arm strength a bit.

There's not enough time in the offseason now with all limitations put into the powderpuff CBA. If a QB wants to improve their mechanics, the onus is on them to seek out instruction and bust their ass off in the offseason.

Which is precisely why most QBs never improve nowadays.

Yup it's what Allen did this past offseason with Palmer...it's what Lance has been doing this whole "season" he's been working on his throwing mechanics.

for me it's all mental with Lance. He's got all the talent needed, as long as he can digest/understand the stuff about the neck...he's got a great shot to be good.

for once I have faith in a coaching staff in putting a rookie in the right spot to be good.

While I'm still really iffy on Lance because he seems so boom or bust to me, he at least seems to show he's got the work ethic you'd need to be successful in the NFL. He's got the raw ability, the athleticism, and he's willing to work. Like many, I agree that he's going to have a learning curve and adjustment period.

I'm not entirely sold on him, but, I won't be crying if we take him. Early on, I could see plenty of things Shanahan would like. I just hope we take the right guy in the end. We've gotta dip into this class. Too much talent along with questions at the position on this team to not do so.
So I would love to hear your opinion on what YOU think Lynch would/should do if Jones, Lance and maybe even Fields are all on the board at 12. Maybe you still take Surtain if there, or the big tackle? I have enjoyed your takes for years. Thanks.

Yeah, but it's gotta be every offseason. Mechanics are a career-long work in progress. They're never done. Tom Brady worked with Tom Martinez his entire life until he died. I have no idea who he is worthing with now, but even after multiple SB rings, Brady worked with Martinez every single offseason because there's always something breaking down needing to be fixed.

And I think that's why there are so many QBs with bad mechanics. Most of them don't have the desire to do it every single f**king offseason. Most guys want to unwind from football, chill, and enjoy the fruits of their labor. You have to want it bad.

That's that Jerry Rice stuff. Totally agree.

From his highlight films, he sure looks mobile like Mahomes and has a pretty good arm. I hope all that mobility isn't a turn off for Kyle.

He's more mobile than Mahomes, what he doesn't have is that, run around to extend the play and then throw from crazy arm angles, that's Wilson.

Lance's arm is big, but none of these QB's have Mahomes' cannon.

I was looking up some comps, some I've thought like Josh Allen, but I've seen more than a few Andrew Luck comps! I'm not quite there but that's the realm this guy lives in for some.

I agree Hero, that's just not something we're going to find out. I just want Kyle to meet him and decide whether or not he has it.

Possibly the biggest mistake he's made in his career is not sitting down with Mahomes. Reid & Payton did (more because he was supposed to go late first) and both fell in love enough to offer future 1st round picks to get him.

Jordan Palmer, he's a QB guru and works with a lot of QBs

Oh I agree...off season improvements, camps, getting with position gurus is a career long thing. Like I said it's all mental and drive for Lance....the tools to be a top 10 QB are all there. That's where you need to talk to these guys and get a fill if their willing to do it.

All I've read is Lance has that drive, he's got a chip on his shoulder. He hasn't ever been giving anything. Wasn't a big 5 star recruit (same with Wilson).
