For me it's like a basketball projection, see a kid you like in high school, one year of college play and you grab him, accepting that you'll have to finish the development he didn't get in college that other guys did.

In these situations you have to trust your coaches and the kid, from what I've seen he's going to work his butt off.

I know the guy that NY posted quotes and interviews from worked with him, but though he may embellish or fluff his protégé, it's bad for his reputation to flat out lie.

Yeah I mean Quincy Avery knows his s**t, he also had no problem pointing out Watson (another of his clients) had no clue what he was doing early in his career, the fact that he was athletic and could make plays out of structure helped him while he was still learning the nuances of the game.

If Lance is sitting there at 6 or 7 I'd have no problem giving up a 3rd and a 2022 1st....use our 2nd to move down and recoup some picks and get some legit talent in this deep draft class.

like you said gotta have trust in the coaching staff and put talent around him.

No way he gets past Carolina

There's always smokescreens this time of year, but it would be easy to see the Panthers interactions with Mac Jones at the Senior bowl and infer that they would be interested.

I'd be very surprised if they took Lance.

You think they would take Jones over Lance?

I doubt it, based on how the Panthers are coached. They want a athletic QB, it won't be Jones.

Don't count it out. Matt Rhule had tried to pry Mac Jones from Alabama to be his QB at Baylor.

So we really don't know what Rhule prefers at the QB spot.

Teddy ran more than he ever did in his career this year with the Panthers. And when you're coaching at Baylor, you take what you can get, especially if someone like Mac.

I mean he ran about as much as he ran when he was starting in Minn...also while I didn't watch a ton of CAR how many run plays were actual dialed up running plays vs him just scrambling?

Jeff is correct Rhule did want Jones at Baylor and I wouldn't be shocked if the requested Jones on their SB team as well.
I hope we trade up and draft this guy.

Talents like Josh Allen who Shanahan was big on

Wonder what Shanny thinks about Lance

It's one thing if he drops to you, another entirely to move up for a QB with less than 400 total pass attempts between high school and college, whose highest level of play was in the FCS, playing for a school that based on level of competition makes Alabama and Clemson look like poverty programs.
