Player Comparison: Matt Barkley. I think Jones could end up being a similar quarterback to Barkley in the NFL. Some team sources agreed with the Barkley comparison, others said a shorter A.J. McCarron, and another suggested a stronger-armed Jake Fromm. Barkley (6-2, 234) and Jones are similar in size with some skill-set limitations.

I don't think Jones is that bad at all...and I agree their website is junk.

I went to their site and their comments he posted were what scouts and front office personnel were saying.

I checked out their 2017 QB analysis and the scouts and office personnel said same things about Watson and Mahomes.

I take everyone's opinion with a grain of salt leading up to the draft. (Well with the exception of randos on Twitter) Ultimately, it will all come down to Shanny's opinion.

Trey Lance is good at FCS football.

I think shanny could take any of those QBs and turn them into good QBs within our system.

the problems with our current QBs is they turn the ball over way too much.

More than half the people slamming WF also said Mahomes was gonna be a bust at one point here, so I think I'm good utilizing WF as a supplement, like so many other sources.

But the biggest one is my eyes, and from what I can tell, the weaknesses discussed by the "trash" scouting people seems to match what I see. Same with the strengths.

Yeah I agree there. The website is straight ad filled garbage, probably designed by some dude with an associates in web design.

The Jones/Barkley thing is just a summary, and I think they're wrong. But why do you guys think that's all the matters? Read the strengths and weaknesses. Those are usually spot on.

They, like many other people compared Mahomes to Cutler. I didn't. I thought he was Favre. I was right, they weren't. But did I just dismiss them as garbage? No! And why not? Because the strengths and weaknesses and discussion was almost spot on. The only thing they got wrong there is failing to see that some of those weaknesses were really strengths that hadn't been refined yet (such as mechanics lapses or recklessness; when properly honed, those became elite, Hall of Fame level improvisation and perfectly timed aggressiveness). One player comp doesn't invalidate everything else they got right.

When you're going though strengths and weakness and you come out saying he's a Matt Barkley type talent? I mean what are we doing here? I'm not a huge Mac Jones guy, but that's a slap in the face to all MacCorkle fans He's better than that.

WF on the scale of good scout evaluations is towards the bottom for me...you want to use them as a source to prove something that's cool, I'm not gonna put much value into it though

End of the day we're gonna debate the s**t out this QBs and we probably don't draft one lol.

Agreed here. I stopped going to the site because they focused way too hard on trying to be funny on their mocks rather than legitimately thinking team's fits or potential BPA. I remember for a stretch, they were always predicting whatever player had the worst off-field notes and slotting that kid to the Bengals just to make a funny. It got real old.

WF analysis is fine, imo. There is just less analysis year by year. They used to have a draft forum with some knowledgeable members.

WF is a s**tty virus filled website, however, and I would not rely on them for their "insider" knowledge. Unfortunately, most of their content now is "what they've heard" (often unreliable) rather than their own thoughts.
