WF analysis is fine, imo. There is just less analysis year by year. They used to have a draft forum with some knowledgeable members.

WF is a s**tty virus filled website, however, and I would not rely on them for their "insider" knowledge. Unfortunately, most of their content now is "what they've heard" (often unreliable) rather than their own thoughts.

It definitely seems like a what they heard site now
Has any other QBs stock sky rocketed more than this kid?

To be fair he was in top 10(5) discussion before the season started. If anything he's dropped a tad

Some drafts going him as high as #3?

That's about where he was listed heading into 2020

The Jones/Barkley thing is just a summary, and I think they're wrong. But why do you guys think that's all the matters? Read the strengths and weaknesses. Those are usually spot on.

They, like many other people compared Mahomes to Cutler. I didn't. I thought he was Favre. I was right, they weren't. But did I just dismiss them as garbage? No! And why not? Because the strengths and weaknesses and discussion was almost spot on. The only thing they got wrong there is failing to see that some of those weaknesses were really strengths that hadn't been refined yet (such as mechanics lapses or recklessness; when properly honed, those became elite, Hall of Fame level improvisation and perfectly timed aggressiveness). One player comp doesn't invalidate everything else they got right.

When you're going though strengths and weakness and you come out saying he's a Matt Barkley type talent? I mean what are we doing here? I'm not a huge Mac Jones guy, but that's a slap in the face to all MacCorkle fans He's better than that.

WF on the scale of good scout evaluations is towards the bottom for me...you want to use them as a source to prove something that's cool, I'm not gonna put much value into it though

End of the day we're gonna debate the s**t out this QBs and we probably don't draft one lol.

Well I just threw then out there because I was surprised to see that they saw what I did.

So slam WF or not, that doesn't change the fact that Lance is slow to move through progressions more often than not. Claiming it's just the offense isn't something I think any of you really believe anyway. Not even small college teams don't have outlets and secondary reads.
So that's a huge negative for me.

But, as I said, there are some great positives. His arm is top of the line. He can move. He's thickly built and will run people over. There's a lot to like.

Again, the guy coached him so I will take it with a pinch of salt, but I think Kyle needs to take a look. I know he'd want to be secretive if he wants him, but they need to go over film together and decide whether he's going to pick up Kyle's offense.

I'm sure he'll kill it in the play action game, probably more so than anyone with his threat to run, nice touch and footwork.

Can he adjust to defense rolling coverages and recognise and dissect the blitz? I'm not sure we'll find out.

If I had no faith in Jimmy I'd be picking Mac Jones, he's safer and has been seasoned doing the things we need a QB to do.

I have faith that Jimmy can give Lance the year or two that he needs to catch up, and if he develops like the signs suggest he will, he could do special things for us.

Not to mention he's a complete red zone cheat code, impossible to defend our run game, with a boot run/pass option with Lance as a running threat.

Or even better, shotgun, OZ zone, running back picks the hole that he would, but is a lead blocker, Trey follows him, good luck.

I still think we end up with Lance - some how, some way.
For all those who hate spending a pick that won't help our team next year, you could have an extremely effective Red zone package in for him week 1 that would help turn some FG's into TD's, or in other words fix the biggest issue of our offense.

Yup and people need to realize every 1st rd pick isn't Nick Bosa. I don't think any KC fans cared about giving up 2 1sts to watch Mahomes sit for a yr now (not saying that's who he will be).

Also the way Jimmy roles I'll bet money we see more than one QB start in 2021.

draft picks are investments, not day 1 proven studs who get 1K snaps most of the time. I care more about winning for the next 10+ yrs vs if we can make it to the second rd of the playoffs in 2021.
I think we need to slow it down with running trey Lance. That's an injury waiting to happen IMO. We already have one injury prone QB and the defense will want to smack this guy around
