That's what I'm looking at, I would wait, first I really think Carolina are serious about Mac Jones, I mean how many owners attend the Senior bowl?

Also there should be either be a different stud at #12 or we could settle for Mac Jones ourselves.

I think Lance might fall lower than we think. The risk is real and teams will be much more risk averse than the Internet scouts.

I would LOVE for Lance to fall in our laps...I also think teams like WFT/NE/Bears etc might be willing to move up though.

I'm not buying Jones to the Panthers at all. Would love it. I wouldn't be shocked if they play the long game for Watson. They're gonna be the last guy touching the truck at one of those car dealership giveaways lol. Everyone else is gonna move on after the draft if Watson isn't moved by then. Their owner wants a elite QB in the worst way.

End of the day they will most likely have to move up to get a QB, if you love a QB you can't wait. I don't think they're gonna "settle" for a guy either. They either want him or they don't, QB isn't a position you can settle at IMO.
Just remember when you're watching 99% of his film he's 19 yrs old lol....kid was calling his protections as a19 yr old lol, running a pro-style offense as a 19 yr old. He wasn't sitting for 3 yrs learning, he was out there winning games and putting up some pretty solid stats in the process.

It's a fair point, we traded every single pick last year so they may manoeuvre, I do think they think highly enough of Jimmy not to get too aggressive, we've seen that with how far we didn't get in the Stafford talks.

A move to #7 is a lot easier to swallow than one to 2 or 3 so I could definitely see that happening.

I think those teams below us have to get to #7 as well, I don't see any of those other teams trading down, just not most their style, maybe Denver but they have some big needs.
I'm assuming it'll take next years 1st to get to #7 eh

Oh I agree there, at this point I think moving into the top 4 isn't realistic.

I wouldn't be scared to move up to 6 though....Philly is gonna be cutting half their team in a week. They like the Lions needs picks in the worst way.

All I'm saying is if you like Lance/Fields and they're sitting there at 6/7 you gotta make a move, you can't sit an wait for a QB. It's the one position where you more often then not have to over pay for (to get the guy you want). NO settling.

I also agree I think they like Jimmy, I don't think they like him enough to restructure his contract or give him an extension and that means his future here is in limbo. You can't win SBs with a QB you're not fully invested in.

in my mock I have us giving up 12, 103, 173 and next yrs 2nd.

been using the TDN's mock simulator and that trade has been going through just fine.

I have SF moving down in the 2nd to recoup a little bit of capital.

It shouldn't per the trade chart, 43 ought to be enough, maybe chuck in one of our 3rds next year. If there's a bidding war it could be the future 1st though

I'm holding onto the 43rd pick, give up a 3rd/5th and next yrs 2nd (toss in one of our 2022 3rds if you have too).

Keep that 2nd at all costs, that's your trading chip to recoup picks. I'd rather trade next yrs 1sts then this yrs 2nd if It came down to it.
Kiss of death 💀

Simms QB rankings has me wondering if Lance could be this year's Aiyuk. Simms could've left him off his rankings and done a top 5, but I think that would've attracted attention from 49er fans. Instead, he adds him in at 6 to make things less conspicuous. Who does a top 6?

The Trey Lance conspiracy. 🧐

I thought that odd for a moment as well then followed with maybe it's who he thinks will be taken round 1?

Oddly enough I like Wilson and Jones a lot as well and he agrees. Lance imo needs way more coaching compared to the others aside maybe Fields. If Lance fell to us perhaps, but trading up for him... I'm not sold on that at this point.
