It is a well-known fact that Shanahan prefers experienced established QBs in the mould of K. Cousins, Hoyer, Schaub or M. Ryan.

Like Jimmy Garoppolo? Who had all of what...four or five starts before the 49ers acquired him?

Saying that Shanahan prefers established veterans isn't the same thing as claiming that he isn't capable of or willing to develop a young passer. I'm sure when it comes down to it, every coach would prefer a talented and proven veteran QB over a rookie with an unknown career trajectory.

But if that option isn't available and instead you see a guy that you think can be the next Matt Ryan, the next Cousins or heck even the next Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson, I'm sure Shanahan will have interest but he's not going to draft a QB just because a desperate fan base wants a quarterback, ANY quarterback.

Field is a one read QB - if the first guy is not open, he takes off.

That's just an absolute falsehood. I'm not sure if you believe that, or are throwing out something you've heard, but it's BS.

LOL. Its Mayo. He must have read it somewhere. He will change his mind.

I would love for Fields to drop to the Niners if other people think that way.

Can't help but some some Kaepernick in this kid...tall, rangy, has great arm, feet and runs instinctively. The talent's there...he simply needs more reps.

Kaep's body lost a ton of muscle quickly, I'd hate to see Lance do the same thing.

He seems pretty muscular for a qb to me.

Not saying we should or shouldn't attempt to draft him.

he's 20. He doesn't even have his grown man muscle yet.

Kap was always really lean and had skinny legs. I never bought the 240 claims. Lance is really thick in the legs and butt. Pause.

Kaepernick was 233 lbs at the combine. I saw him multiple times in person while he was with the 49ers. He's a giant motherf**ker in person.

Remember when kyle said cj beathard was "the one" lmao straight trash. I hope we could get Lance though he'd be dope.

Lol well-unknown? Dude hasn't been in a position to be the decision maker on QBs until he came to SF.

Not entirely true. Drafting QBs? You are correct. Deciding on which QBs he'd rather be starting? Is well known.

NVM, my point has no bearing on the current discussion, well technically it does as it relates to Hoyer versus Manziel

I suppose CJ Beathard doesn't ring any bells.

Yea it did. After that draft he tried to say cj beathard was the qb he was looking for thats why they reached for him. He might as well have said it. I know those werent his exact words but he made it seem like Cj woulda been the next kirk cousins. Started the year with Brian Hoyers sorry ass smh.
