Greg Rousseau - EDGE - UMiami

Personally, I see 6'7", and I'm sickened. Tape is super underwhelming to me. Dude is super raw, super tall and wins more from the inside than outside.

This video summarizes him well. He had 4 sacks, but that's misleading because 3 of them came from inside; 1 came from a manufactured pressure where he slanted inside. Again, nothing from the edge. None of these sacks are impressive to me. A bunch of low-quality, busted assignment sacks. This is his tape in a nutshell.

Yeah I have to agree. He plays very stiff and upright, because of his height. Pure project.
Someone like Philips is way more polished and has way more moves in his arsenal. I like Philips and Ojulari as pass rushers a lot more.

The problem with Phillips is all the injury red flags with the concussions and everything else. If he doesn't have those issues then he is easily a Top 10 pick. Not sure the team is in position to take any further risks on a guy like that. Otherwise I'd be all for it. He's the best pure edge rusher in this draft class.

Yeah, he seems to be the only edge who has top 15 type talent, but with the concussions he could be forced to retire even before his rookie season is over. You see it in fighting sports where a guy is just prone to concussions and has to quit.

They might see more in Rousseau then we do and I'd trust the DL coaches to do a good job with him if we did take him.

Would he be best suited staying at edge and working on his skills/quickness or would he be better piling on the weight and playing inside? Or would it be like Armstead where he does both?

It sounds like a lot of teams will pass on him after him initially being mocked very high. If they traded way down and grabbed him at 25 or something (I've no idea where he he's projected to go) that would be ok, if they have a good plan for him. I think in fairness he shows good strength and his length is an issue, if you thought you could train him up a lot, he could be a very good player in a few years.

I think Ojulari is a bit overrated, as he's the player who looks most like the speedy, highly drafted egde rushing star, but is well off that standard.

With the team looking fairly set, maybe they can afford an absolute punt on a Rousseau or a Phillips and if he never does anything it's not as much of a disaster as a bust like that usually would be.

none of these edge rushers are worth a top 25 pick IMO.

I'd rather grab someone like Boogie/Roche/Jones a little later.
Lmao these are hand times, too. Mac Jones might beat this dude in a race.

Not sure we want him there either.

Probably hurts our chance to get Phillips or Perkins.
