Yeah, I tend to agree with this.

Yes simple college spread offense and NFL teams that do NOT have top end QBs & have to rely on everyone else and not the QB

Go look at IAY/CAY and who's at the top of those lists on pro-reference. Looks like some damn good QBs to me.

THIS IS NOT SPECIAL. and yes i copied yards behind LoS cause of how often he throws behind the LoS.

If this was Lance/fields people would be having a fit lol. BUT because it's Jones he's regarded as some Uber heady QB....I heard he might be "sneaky" athletic too

This team is no better after drafting Jones imo actually worse because we lost 4 picks in the process.

Check out this throw from Fields in high school. Sheeeeeesh.

I mean how could the brightest NFL mind in the game work with that?

I've finished watching all of Fields' games, mostly cut ups but did the playoff games in full. For me the Jets are the only team with a decision to make, once they do we just phone in the one they leave behind.

I love Lance, but honestly Fields is closer to Lawrence as a prospect than Lance is to Fields, and it's laughable to suggest Mac Jones belongs in the conversation.

The talent level is special, and the potential of him paired with Shanny is ridiculous.

I've seen someone compare Fields to a better version of Deshaun Watson in college, and I'm doubling down on that.

The Nebraska game is just ridiculous 20/21 for 291 & 4 TD's, and his incompletion was his best throw, howitzer to Olave around 45 yards in the air to a perfect spot, he just couldn't hold on after climbing the ladder and hitting the ground hard.

Unbelievable performance and if you worry about the competition there, he was better against Clemson.

Couldn't agree more, I don't even think Wilson should be a no brainer for the Jets.

fields is my pick at 3

Yup. I like Jones. I think he would be a good switch from Jimmy at 12 because he's coming in cheap, he's coming in healthy and he's coming in with a better deep ball.

However athletically does he bring anything better than Jimmy? Jimmy as a prospect didn't have a lot of the issues he had now. No injury concerns, he showed a good arm and there weren't concerns whether he could throw it deep. Nobody said his arm was a bazooka but there weren't questions about him handicapping an offense.

Things changed once he got into the NFL and once he started getting hurt. I still think he never got over the ACL injury mentally.

The one thing we cannot predict is how guys adjust to the NFL. I don't want to fault Jones for playing with a good team because he would have a good team here as well...but at 3 and with us giving up all that draft capital I would love to know that the guy we select can still play well when he doesn't have the best team/talent on the field.

We haven't seen that with Jones. He's never had a game where he was just getting teed off on on the regular. We haven't seen games where his OL was having an off day or his WRs weren't torching people and getting open without issue.

Can Jones make us better as a team? Absolutely. Would Fields do that while also giving us the opportunity to still produce when things aren't going perfect? Yes he does.

iMO if you're making this trade you HAVE to take a guy who can give you that extra something. You'll end up paying him a lot of money. You better hope he's scheme proof.

Honestly I don't think the difference between Jimmy and Jones is really that big...Jimmy was great at throwing a deep ball in college. NFL is different.

he's cheaper, so that's cool. They also lose 3 1sts and a 3rd which can cripple a team looking for top end talent across the roster. I honestly think it's a ton of fluff right now. No one knows who they will pick.

It's not Rocket science to me. When you give up that much draft capital you draft the most talented guy. Regardless of who is a better fit for the system you run. A player can learn the system. Especially someone as gifted as Fields. You can't learn athletic ability.

The Al Davis school of drafting never works. The last time we did that we drafted Taylor Mays.

I'm not against Fields but the "you can't teach 4.4 speed" argument is tired.

It's one thing to just draft a guy cause of the combine like the Raiders selecting DHB. When a special athlete has film that is better than most everyone in the draft I don't understand the confusion. Like the arguement Mac stays on script.... cause he f**king has too. Do people think Fields can't stay on script. If his first read is open I guarantee he throws it.

Athletic ability is more than running a 40, it's more about god given ability.

I had a great 3 ball in HS wasn't getting a D1 scholarship lol. You can be a great pitcher, but if you can throw it 90MPH no one cares.

and it's not like these other QBs are just athletes and nothing else...they're damn good QBs

God given ability matters.

Seriously lol. It's such a dumb debate and really not that difficult to get.
We're taking Fields. No one can convince me otherwise
I think Fields paired with Kyle will break the NFC, like Mahomes has done with Reid. Every team would build their roster solely to try and keep up with us.

That's why we shouldn't believe these "team sources" knocking him, there's a lot of teams who would benefit from us passing on him.

The team should do their research, but we shouldn't freak out.
