brady was one of the top CAY in the league this past yr

You probably want to go to his career in NE to make that point hence why I brought up Welker and Edelman. Arians has always ran a vertical offense.

Ot maybe I was responding to an earlier post then a few popped up in the process.

oh so then your mind has been changed and you realized you were wrong about comparing Haskins and Fields. i'm glad that's settled.

If you read what I said you'd know that I want him as our pick. So there's no reason for me to change my mind. But I'm not going to get angry if Shanny takes his guy. And I didn't compare him to Haskins as a prospect just noted OSU is a very easy place to play QB.

Welp not really

Tom Brady is right there with him with a range of 1.17 and standard deviation of 0.40. Despite Brady's long-time reputation for running a dink-and-dunk offense, his air yards have always been above 8.0 outside of 2010, when he just dipped down to 7.78.

Looks pretty average. He's above Alex I guess so you win. But notice Carson is higher which gets to my Arians point.

8 yards isn't dinking and dunking...it's better than Rogers this past yr.

regardless this has nothing to do with Brady. Haskins isn't close to Fields. Outside of being black and playing OSU they haven no similarities.

Carson was the same way in Cinci and in college...Also I have no idea what you're trying to prove lol.

Anyone return to comp Haskins to Fields is being lazy.

The point was our offense heavily relies on screens and short passes right now. So did NE. It's not the worse thing in the world. Moving on though.

Our offense uses whomever they have and maximizes it....kyle absolutely loves explosive plays. When we have a QB that's better at short quick timing passes then he goes that route.

I remember looking into Kirk when at DC, he has one of the highest air yard rates in the NFL. Go look at Ryan's air yards in 2016...

Our offense relies on screens and YAC because that's all you can do when you have Jimmy G o Nick Mullens. Beathard was the only guy with enough arm talent to stretch the field. The poor pass protection doesn't help either, having QBs who can't move neither does. Jimmy G was saved by his absurd quick release which helped him to get rid of the football a fraction of second before getting hit. Having the YAC artists on the team was helping all these QBs inflate their numbers. A 10 yards throw to Raheem Mostert that he runs 70 more yards for the TD, a short dump to Kittle that he bulldozes all the way to 20 yards gain.

And it's not really a bad thing, Tom Brady made a career with YAC and shot throws. The issue here is that defenses really didn't care anymore about defending certain areas of the field knowing Jimmy wouldn't attack those. It made the offense very limited. What we saw from the Atlanta offense in 2016 was that the defenses had to defend every inch of the field and they had 5 legit receiving options on every snap. And Ryan wasn't really an athlete, so there a need to spy him as you'd do with QBs who can scramble for some gains.

Justin Fields is the guy who offers you the option to attack the entire field. Defenses would have to worry about every inch of grass, to cover every single weapon, and to worry about the legs of the QB as well. Mac Jones would just be a cheaper Jimmy G, I'm sure Kyle is tired of his offense being limited. Trey Lance would be a massive risk with the limited tape you have on him. And the other 2 are out of reach. Before the trade I was ok with Mac or Lance, after the trade not so much because doesn't make any sense.
Kyle is drooling over the idea of getting Fields right now and taking deep shots across all parts of the field. Those have been missing the last few years, but historically always part of Kyle's playbook.

Play 8 men in the box to stop our run game? Cool, KS and Fields will eat you alive intermediate and deep.

Play 2 high the way Indiana and Northwestern did to limit the deep ball? We'll just keep running the ball down people's throats.

And we'll finally able to win in the times s*** doesn't go your way and you can't count on staying ahead of schedule / ahead of the sticks. In this era, sometimes you just gotta be able to convert on 3rd and 7+ no matter how good your run game and defense are.

Are we really comparing Justin Fields with Dwyane Haskins now?

Then he's gonna get hire back by DeBartolo-York to complete Trey Lance training and just when Lance is about to take over the 49ers, we'll be in the ARCH LOTTERY !!!

Obviously.

TEAMS bringing Fields down tells you that they have no shot at Wilson and hope that they do a great job doing it so that THEIR OWN TEAM will have a shot of drafting Fields !!

it's the oldest trick in the draft book !!!

It's like JOE DUMARS telling everyone that he'd take Melicic OVER LeBron because of what he's done!!

or better yet, Hornet's manager telling the world that ALONZO MOURNING would have been his choice over SHAQ!!

QBs that played at OSU. That's all people who haven't watched any game tape need.

Didn't you know Lawrence is Charlie Whitehurst. Zach Wilson is John Beck or Taysom Hill.
