Teams lie this time of year because there is no value in telling anyone what you plan to do. Even if we loved Jones, it would be crazy to tell anyone about it because it just puts attention on him for other teams. I heard Pat Kirwan takes Mac Jones to the Jets in a mock today.....that would be a thing happening if everyone wasn't talking about him to #3 already. Us moving to #3 and rumors flying about us liking him has raised his stock on its own.

If you telegraph Jones as the pick.....what if Atlanta really loves him too? Then they jump you with the Jets and take him, and the Jets still get either Fields or Wilson......and you lost the guy you moved up to get. That's a win for them and an extra 1st rounder to boot.

That's why you still have to disguise your pick, even at #3.

I don't normally defend Jones but we need to upgrade our O line regardless who our QB is. Need a T, G and C

Trade Kittle and draft a couple of tackles to play TE for us. Max protect every play with two downfield routes and a swing with the RB. That's the Mac Jones offense.

Right so we got to assume if Kyle is as stubborn at QB as he is with his OL....he's not gonna draft a bunch of big anchoring lineman that can hold the pocket for Mac. So basically you got yourself another Jimmy situation. cool

to me the only thing that makes sense at this point is either:

A) They really like Mac Jones and Kyle Shanahan has taken over the building

B) They have Justin Fields graded much much higher than Zach Wilson and have Trevor and Fields in their Tier 1 ranking. And they don't want the Jets to reconsider Fields.

Lance doesn't really fit anywhere in this picture, so I think they are not that serious about him.
