Be it in sports, politics, romance... anything. Since Clemson and Lawrence beat up on Bama 3 years ago, it's been a foregone conclusion that Lawrence is the best QB prospect ever and no one is close. So the idea that someone just might be close bothers them.

Take away the hyperbole and just compare the two players, statistics and what you see on the field, and the two are very close. Take away the fact that Lawrence is 6'6", looks like a traditional quarterback, is white... and it's even closer.

Just sayin'...

Does this mean YOU will take Fields over Trevor if you are drafting for the Jaguars??

Possibly. That's not the point I'm making there. I'm merely saying the two are very close as prospects. Which one an organisation likes better is up to them. I expect more will like Lawrence, which is fine because hes an Elite prospect.. both are.

if he some how falls to 8, id be ok with trading up to draft him.

Fields has a slightly long release, and a slightly slow processing ability. Neither is really a yellow flag alone, but combined might create issues that Lawrence doesn't currently have. I also disagree that he has better feet in the pocket. With that said, hed still go #1 OA in any draft that doesn't include Lawrence.

For Lawrence, I also agree that he is a bit overrated as a result of his freshman. Absolutely he's an elite prospect, but I think it's fair to question if he has peaked, where as someone like Fields has deficiencies in areas that can still be improved, and has shown improvement thus far.

agreed

Shanny has worked with Fields at QB camps and such. There's a relationship there FWIW

People still doing this?

Joe Burrow was technically an OSU QB.

Justin Fields started his career at Georgia.

BURREAUX would have been in someone's PRACTICE SQUAD right now had he NOT transferred to LSU..

Meyer himself said that the MOST talented QB he ever had was HASKINS..

Exactly. Every time someone says something like that it blows my mind.

I understand at least a bit when people reference players from certain systems but schools? Come on...
People still evaluating the logo on the helmet and not the player.

Fields won't be a 49er. Not because he sucks, but because he's going to go super early and I don't think he's stylistically the type of QB Shanny wants. WE WILL SEE ABOUT THE LATTER.

I'm done trying to actually figure out what type of QB he wants lol. The only QB he's ever truly drafted is CJ.

Yes he loved Kirk, he also had high grades on Carr and Wilson. Who knows

He is responsible for drafting Kirk. Mike said it himself multiple times in interviews.

So, he drafted Kirk and CJ, liked Jimmy and Derek Carr. All these QBs are stylistically very similar. BUT we shall see.
