Meyer has no ties or experience in the NFL. The other successful college coaches that went to the NFL and did well all were ex NFL players or assistant coaches. Nick Saban didn't have the ties either and he lasted a year in Miami. The job is much different in the NFL when you are dealing with high paid players instead of college players trying to keep their scholarship. Walsh, Harbaugh and Carroll all worked at some level in the NFL, moved to college and became successful HCs then went to the NFL. They were prepared fro what they would face.

He is responsible for drafting Kirk. Mike said it himself multiple times in interviews.

So, he drafted Kirk and CJ, liked Jimmy and Derek Carr. All these QBs are stylistically very similar. BUT we shall see.

Correct, kyle also said they were interested in taken Russell Wilson (in the same draft) in the 4th rd...Wilson ended up going in the 3rd, so they drafted Kirk in the 4th.

we shall see!

Yup we shall see!

Trust me, I would be pumped if Kyle had someone as multiple as Fields to mold. I think if he really opened his mind, he could take the RPOS, zone reads, designed runs, and all that fun stuff to another level on top of his foundational offense.

But we know how these football coaches are. They are stubborn creatures that set in their ways. The thing with Kyle is he's had success with all types of QBs. Sure, the overwhelming majority have been the same pocket-passing style of QB, but he revamped his offense for RG3 and had that dude balling. The said, the fact that he couldn't wait to get RG3 off the field and replace him with Kirk just lets you know how stubborn these dudes are. They want to win their way. We just have to wait and see if things have changed in his mind.

it's not stubborness, QBs need to be throwers not Runners. G3 was a wildcat QB. Fields is looking that way as when it gets tough he rather run then float in the pocket.

It's easier to develop a mobile pocket QB into a RPO runner than a RPO Runner into a mobile pocket QB

He got that Uncle Rico form lol
I doubt Shanny even remembers him. They go through hundreds of kids at the QB collective camps. There used to be a clip online of Shanny breaking down QB mechanics at the camp. Dude is brilliant. Shanny in many ways really is a young Belichick. BTW, these camps are f**king stacked if you can attend them. Look at the people that were at the one Fields was at:

That is very much false. Seriously, watch more than one or two games of someone before "evaluating". This is why I come off as an ahole on here sometimes, I have little patience for ignorance.

Haskins was the most talented quarterback he ever had. Just like Jamarcus Russell is one of the most talented quarterbacks to play. They just dont have much going on behind the ears.

It's hard to know if there are red flags with a player unless you know them personally.

i have the same impatience with OU playing a scrub team and thinking Fields will play against the same teams in the NFL

What does that have to do with him bailing when there's pressure? Hell, watch the most recent game against Clemson, a great defense... hes constantly looking receivers off, reading coverage and keeping his eyes downfield.
