Yup we shall see!

Trust me, I would be pumped if Kyle had someone as multiple as Fields to mold. I think if he really opened his mind, he could take the RPOS, zone reads, designed runs, and all that fun stuff to another level on top of his foundational offense.

But we know how these football coaches are. They are stubborn creatures that set in their ways. The thing with Kyle is he's had success with all types of QBs. Sure, the overwhelming majority have been the same pocket-passing style of QB, but he revamped his offense for RG3 and had that dude balling. The said, the fact that he couldn't wait to get RG3 off the field and replace him with Kirk just lets you know how stubborn these dudes are. They want to win their way. We just have to wait and see if things have changed in his mind.

Right I'm not trying to argue with ya, I just don't think Kyle is just about one type of QB end of the day. I think he values certain things and I don't think NOT being mobile is one of them

Thing is all of these top QBs can work within the pocket and make reads. OSU isn't running a straight up spread offense either. Not under Day. RG3 at Baylor was your typical spread/air raid QB that didn't need to read a defense or be that accurate. He was more athlete than pure QB, he still balled and then got hurt...he didn't develop nor really had a chance to because of the knee injury.

we will see! I think while Kyle and most coaches are stubborn, I think the great ones adapt and evolve as evaluators and play callers. I'd like to think Kyle is one of those.

Todd McShay on his podcast today said dinosaurs aren't around anymore because they didn't adapt, you have or be able to adapt

The Athletic had a very good article on how to find the right coach yesterday for all the openings out there. One of the points was pick a coach that is not stubborn, and can evolve and adapt. I too would like to think that is Kyle.
Trade up for him or Wilson??? Who's better and why

Wilson would hands down be the better system fit for us so I'd go for him. Fields has the higher ceiling and I wouldn't be mad at all if we went that route as well.

My only problem with Wilson is his thin frame and injury history.

Legitimate concerns. The thin frame part is something that an NFL strength and conditioning program should fix. The throwing shoulder injury is worrisome, but coming from someone who had the same injury and surgery, he wouldn't have been able to do what he did this year if it were a problem.

I dont doubt the latter, but the former is a concern for me. Your build is your build, you can add weight, sure... but narrow shoulders and skinny ankles aren't going to change no matter how much weight and muscle you put on.

That in itself isnt a reason for me to avoid Wilson, but when combined with his injuries it raises an eyebrow... and when splitting hairs between him and Fields, Jones and Lance it could be a difference maker.

Wilson said he wants to play around 215lbs. Right around the same size as guys like eli Manning, Carr, Watson etc.

I agree with the shoulder surgery, it's a little red flag but like you said if he wasn't complete healed from it he wouldn't be able to throw the ball like he has.

Fits in with this team.
Garoppolo added weight/muscle and no change in injury history

Jared Goff is thin but fairly durable (thumb injury is his first big injury but he's lasted through a lot of hits)
Impressed with his arm strength
Sure could use a guy like ruckert on our team

System fit wise it's actually hands down Fields. Of what we have seen from the Shanahan Offense over the last few seasons, Fields is tailor made for it. All our current weapons are compatible with this offense, that was built around Jimmy G. Wilson would be a change up as he's more suited for Andy Reid. He's somebody that some fans what to see as a different kind of QB. Fields for the most part will stay on the script that Shanahan wants his QBs to do.
Receiver should've caught that but an nfl CB picks that
