It is a terrible take. 1st off the draft hasn't happened yet so no one has fallen anywhere. 2nd the term falling is thrown around way to often. Aaron Rodgers fell if you go in the top 5-10 I can hardly see how that's considered falling. We don't know what will happen until Thursday. Basically calling someone you've never met who is in a locker room surrounded by people of all walks of life racist because his evaluation of quarterbacks is different than yours is down right pathetic.

I am a huge fields fan and I am praying he is some how the pick but get real.

Bad take. Do better.

You think my take that Kyle shanahan is not selecting our qb of the future which will determine if he remains with the team based off race is a bad take? You think Kyle is racist?

You are talking about direct racism while this issue is more nebulous than simply concluding Kyle is a racist. It is similar to not selecting Rodgers because he is a Tedford QB.

It is obvious that Kyle is not racist.

I have seen a huge number of posters claim that all this is media nonsense and a smoke screen....

But no one who has made that claim has been able to answer this question: What is the upside/point of creating this smokescreen?

It is a smokescreen because in "They Lying Season", there seems to be a lot of team officials who are extremely quick to speak about Mac Jones and prop him up. Think about that. Mac Jones is pulling more quotes from these "team officials" than any other QB. In fact, I haven't really heard much out of any officials mouth about the other 4.

Wonder why? They really want Mac Jones to go high because they want in on the new type of QB for themselves.

I've seen others give ideas, but here are mine:

Protect the asset by removing yourself from the asset.
Galvanize the idea, the principle, that this front office doesn't leak.
Make the other teams work as hard as possible (second guess themselves) up until your pick.
Just another part of being super-competitive in the NFL. It doesn't stop on the field.

I really don't know.

Also I believe this is a job by your news networks. They've figured out since the Harbaugh days that swirling drama around our team is good for business

Meh, Harbaugh stirred most of it up himself by making the media the enemy.

Only reason is if Shanalynch has Fields ahead of everyone not named Lawrence and they don't want the Jets to reconsider and take Fields.

Yeah I just saw that Simms mock and made a more emotional response to the mock draft about him falling to 32. And was more saying it against the media that he'd be a lock at 3 than against coach. I'm still trying to hold onto hope he's the pick at 3 but the smoke is either really thick or thinning.

Yea I'm black so I can get how race and historical events can cloud our view of what's happening but I am of the opinion that this pick is gonna be made based on who can help us win for a long time. Too much is spent here and I think the whole organization wants to get a ten year guy here that we feel we can compete with because we've invested so much. Even if he was a chameleon with varying colors I don't believe we'd hesitate if we thought Fields is the guy

We will see how things turn out but from my football eye Fields is going early and we should be lined up to take him at three but we will see

Yeah, Fields has done everything right AND has had elite success. A coach that is willing to do it can change the pocket footwork of any QB. Pocket footwork is not an intangible. Any of these 4 QBs can learn the footwork Mac Jones uses in the pocket.

This isn't about needing a Day 1 ready QB. It is about Kyle coaching the most dangerous option up. Mac Jones is definitely NOT the most dangerous option. Mac Jones is just as inexperienced as Trey Lance.

Justin Fields is THE ONLY QB out of all 5 that is just as accomplished as Trevor Lawrence.

Uh oh. Your bolded makes too much sense. Red 🚨 red 🚨 red 🚨!

1. The jets certainly could take the guy they want one spot ahead of us. Especially since many think fields is and always has been the 2nd best qb on the board

2. uncertainty sells in the media. I have been drinking up every piece of content I can get my hands on from podcasts to YouTube to television. If we knew the top 3 this all goes out the window.

3. shanalynch literally just said they don't think it's necessary for everyone to know the pick in yesterday's press conference. Also, said they were the only two that will know until the pick.

We keep 31 teams off balance and unable to solidify a ton a trade deals based around who we pick and who we don't pick. You hear the rumblings of teams wanting to move up if we don't select Fields

They gotta wait on us and we don't have to wait. We can pounce!
