As good as he was at Washington State, I didn't think that he was close to being as good as Manning.. One can tell during interviews when a kid is matured or not..

While Leaf was saying all the right in his interviews during the season, you can tell that he wasn't as matured as Peyton Manning was.. You can also tell that between Randy Moss and Woodson.. I don't know, I just can somehow tell that Randy and Ryan were not as matured as Manning or Woodson were.. was it because they may have been less educated?

I'm not saying Justin ain't good... all I said is that if he lands on a bad organization, he may just not be ready enough compare to Trevor, he can land with the worst organization out there, worst management, and he will still excel..

PLUS, most of you guys also liked JT Barrett - Cardale " LeBron "Jones when they got advertised at OHIO STATE.. now, yah'll jumping in Justin's bandwagon??

RELAX !!!

Again, what makes you think Lawrence is more mature than Fields? What evidence do you have?

And of course, the super mature Peyton Manning who teabagged a female trainer when she was working on his ankle. Some hall of fame maturity there. Just stop while you're behind.

After seeing some advanced stats on Fields I got to walk back on something. OSU qb's scare the crap out of me because they're so superior talent wise to their slow @ Big 10 opponents. I watched Haskins and he was completing everything but you'd watch and know he's not that accurate. When the windows tightened on the next level he'd struggle. Fields is legit though talent wise

One thing I dont understand is why people keep talking about OSU quarterbacks sucking in the NFL. They've had maybe 2 or 3 serious NFL prospects at quarterback since I've been a fan... Haskins clearly being the most talented and the highest drafted, but still having clear flaws.

You guys make it seem like every year they have a top 10 draft pick at quarterback who flames out.

Every year they have a Heisman candidate who was practically unstoppable. Before the qb's were in a run 1st offense so they fell but get used to seeing them at the top of the draft board every year now that they're throwing. It's easy pickings.

Well, they're recruiting at a high level. So we are talking 5 star recruits, getting excellent coaching at a top notch program putting up excellent stats.. yeah, they're gonna get pro looks. Makes sense.

.. ALEX SMITH... Chris Leak.. Tim Tebow.. Braxton Miller.. JT Barrett.. Cardale Jones.. JT Barrett (again) .. Dwayne Haskins..

everyone looked good and played very very well... but all because of Urban Meyer's Read Option Offense..

Justin Field - he's only played one season, I can see why everyone's HIGH on him because he looks good.. but I still say, he needs ANOTHER season !!

How is Haskin Justin?what proof do you have that Justin is going to turn out like his predecessors ? Now I live in Big10 country, and see a lot of their games,Fields may need a another year and He may not but you CANNOTprove that Fields is like Haskin or JT or any other QB in the last 6-7 years from Ohio St. Prove it and I will stand corrected.

I am not comparing Justin's QB talent to Haskin or JT.. what part of that do you NOT understand ??

all I'm saying is that he's too young and IF he lands on a bad team w/a bad organization, he being NOT MATURED ENOUGH may not be able to handle it...

and what I'm saying is MENTALITY..

KIDS today, they show talent, they get recruited by BIG TIME SCHOOLS, come to play for a big time program like OHIO STATE, put up some BIG NUMBERS, they tend to listen to the HYPE and the media.. they feel INVINCIBLE and become blinds believing that " I AM GREAT !! "...

then adversity comes around and mentally they break down... IMO, Justin needs another seasoning.. again, if Trevor decides not to go to the Jets, and New York ends up drafting Justin Field this season and not make any changes with the coaching staff, you may want to get ready to the title of HE COULDA WOULDA SHOULA BEEN... type of story..

I have no idea who Andre Ware is

You serious? You must be a young buck then. Andre Ware is a former Heisman winning QB and was an absolute beast. Went high in the draft but just didn't work out.

personally, did you think that Ware was better than David Klinger ??

I feel bad for Ware because Wayne Fonts never believed in him.. They drafted the kid to run Detroit's Run N Shoot, but their OC (Mouse Davis) wanted to go with his personal hand pick veteran QB..

Ware never developed because they didn't give him a chance ..

Absolutely agree with you. At that time, I thought Ware was the next best thing to come into the league (because of that Run N Shoot). Ware dealt with a lot being a black QB in college and Houston was the only ones that let him be one, I can't remember but I think other schools wanted him to switch positions. I do remember rumblings of him dealing with similar type things when he got into the league.

Speaking of old time QBs. Jeff Blake was absolutely filthy in the Madden games back in the day. You paired him with Rocket Ismail, Car Pickens and any halfway decent TE and it was game over for any opponent you faced. He still has one of the most ridiculous arms that I've ever seen.
