Absolutely agree with you. At that time, I thought Ware was the next best thing to come into the league (because of that Run N Shoot). Ware dealt with a lot being a black QB in college and Houston was the only ones that let him be one, I can't remember but I think other schools wanted him to switch positions. I do remember rumblings of him dealing with similar type things when he got into the league.

Speaking of old time QBs. Jeff Blake was absolutely filthy in the Madden games back in the day. You paired him with Rocket Ismail, Car Pickens and any halfway decent TE and it was game over for any opponent you faced. He still has one of the most ridiculous arms that I've ever seen.

BLAKE threw a freakin nice rainbow down the field and Carl Pickens used to give every secondary fits !!

I really thought that Blake was going to be a very good QB in the NFL after watching at East Carolina that year..
This guy makes some really unbelievable throws. Watching the game now. Go Buckeyes

Another incompletion was a dropped TD pass

Excellent talent around him, clearly significantly more than any other Big 10 team. But everything is there on the film... the arm, accuracy, angles, timing, footwork, intangibles, presence... etc.

Thoughts and prayers for him when he's a Jag

It won't be so bad once they clean house. [That includes Baalke in the FO]

Lol.. how can you say that based off a literally near perfect performance?

the point I'm trying to make here is that this kid could find himself similar to Ryan Leaf's at San Diego.. he is very talented, but you can tell he's not that matured yet (Haskins having the same issue) and if a bad team ends up drafting this kid, he's going to be a BUST..

for example, if Lawrence announces that he wont play in New York, the Jets will end up taking Fields... and if he ends up w/the Jets and the management now, it'll be all over... all over..

Um, you can tell that?

I'm sorry but no you can't. I'm an Ohio State fan and live here in Ohio. No, I'm not connected to the program and no I'm not an alum- graduated from Wright State in the Dayton, Ohio area.

I too felt that while an exceptional talent that there was something a little off with Haskins personality wise. Watching Ohio State, well not every week because these days I'm usually working on game day, but following Ohio State, I don't get that vibe with Fields at all. They mentioned last night that Fields probably deserves a lot of credit for leading the team, getting the team focused, and even trying to lead the way on the silly (imo) Covid protocols so that everyone, or as much of everyone as possible, stays healthy and eligible.

This team I think to a man feels like, as they said, and not to Marshawn Lynch it, but that there's unfinished business from last year. It's why Shaun Wade and I think Wyatt Davis, both first round picks in all likelihood, opted out when the Big Ten (or whatever we call it these days) delayed everything and then opted back in when they decided to play some semblance of a season.

I'm not sure where the Leaf comparison even comes from as no one thought Leaf was going to flame out to that level or he wouldn't have been drafted second overall. And with Leaf, it wasn't just "immature kid", it was literal depression and mental issues that if memory serves had him close to taking his own life at one point.

Wut? Not a chance in hell dude. Lawrence and Fields will be the top 2 picks in the 2021 draft unless someone gets drastically hurt.

Always a chance.

Yeah, there's a chance. And those teams, or a team could be idiots. Are you going to take the flavor of the week from a program outside a Power 5 conference in Wilson because he's the flavor of the week? Or are you going to take the guy playing against higher level college defenses who was running neck and neck as best QB in his recruiting class with Lawrence? I mean Zach Wilson might wind up being great, but I know who I'm hedging my bets on as being more NFL ready if I'm picking that highly in the draft and it isn't him.

But obviously it's all a guessing game until they get there. Even with Lawrence- who likely won't bust but just given the expectations might not reach those either.

LEAF at one point was considered to have more UP-SIDE than Manning... He was also more physical as he used to be in the special team early in his career.. As good as he was at Washington State, I didn't think that he was close to being as good as Manning.. One can tell during interviews when a kid is matured or not..

While Leaf was saying all the right in his interviews during the season, you can tell that he wasn't as matured as Peyton Manning was.. You can also tell that between Randy Moss and Woodson.. I don't know, I just can somehow tell that Randy and Ryan were not as matured as Manning or Woodson were.. was it because they may have been less educated?

I'm not saying Justin ain't good... all I said is that if he lands on a bad organization, he may just not be ready enough compare to Trevor, he can land with the worst organization out there, worst management, and he will still excel..

PLUS, most of you guys also liked JT Barrett - Cardale " LeBron "Jones when they got advertised at OHIO STATE.. now, yah'll jumping in Justin's bandwagon??

RELAX !!!

Again I don't know if many people here or elsewhere liked either of those guys as NFL prospects.

JT Barrett- great guy, great kid, strong leader, good runner- Ken Dorsey type arm
Cardale Jones- Brett Favre type arm but not very polished. Given the job essentially after Barrett's injury and his leading tOSU to a championship, and Urban loved Barrett and Jones couldn't maintain his slight lead on the job or even keep kind of a timeshare on it with JT as it became clear he was the better choice toward the end of the year.

So again if anyone here liked either one of those guys as anything more than backups or Cardale as a rough project, they, well I don't know what they were watching or reading.

Fields is different than those guys.

Again, what makes you think Lawrence is more mature than Fields? What evidence do you have?

And of course, the super mature Peyton Manning who teabagged a female trainer when she was working on his ankle. Some hall of fame maturity there. Just stop while you're behind.

Peyton did that when he was a lot younger at Tennessee... and bottom line, how the heck did the Manning Leaf ended ??

go read and learn more !!

9moon, you my man are a fruit loop.

LOL... nah brah, just trying to educate those who need'em..

again, Justin is good, but I JUST FULLY BELIEVE that he needs another season to be graded this HIGH this SOON..

look how Haskin's immaturity is NOW showing up. ..
How is Haskin Justin?what proof do you have that Justin is going to turn out like his predecessors ? Now I live in Big10 country, and see a lot of their games,Fields may need a another year and He may not but you CANNOTprove that Fields is like Haskin or JT or any other QB in the last 6-7 years from Ohio St. Prove it and I will stand corrected.

I am not comparing Justin's QB talent to Haskin or JT.. what part of that do you NOT understand ??

all I'm saying is that he's too young and IF he lands on a bad team w/a bad organization, he being NOT MATURED ENOUGH may not be able to handle it...

and what I'm saying is MENTALITY..

KIDS today, they show talent, they get recruited by BIG TIME SCHOOLS, come to play for a big time program like OHIO STATE, put up some BIG NUMBERS, they tend to listen to the HYPE and the media.. they feel INVINCIBLE and become blinds believing that " I AM GREAT !! "...

then adversity comes around and mentally they break down... IMO, Justin needs another seasoning.. again, if Trevor decides not to go to the Jets, and New York ends up drafting Justin Field this season and not make any changes with the coaching staff, you may want to get ready to the title of HE COULDA WOULDA SHOULA BEEN... type of story..

He's probably the same age and at least was in the same recruiting class as Trevor Lawrence, who you're in love with. And look, he's great.

They would also have roughly the same level of experience at the college level except Georgia and Kirby Smart was loyal to the lesser talented player at QB, whom I think I read had family that were donors or had considerable influence with the university/program.

I mean every single thing you're arguing could apply to Trevor Lawrence. "He's too young, gets recruited by big time schools, plays for big programs, big numbers, big hype."

Yet Lawrence is immune to it and Fields is not. You have a right to that opinion. Unfortunately you're "educating" no one.
