Not a fan. If you're going for someone super athletic, Trey Lance to me presents a better overall upside. There's been a lot of chatter that one of the reasons he chose to sit out the year is because he was set to wind up as the backup at Georgia which makes me wonder about his competitiveness.

I hope that's not true lol. Such a major disappointment to hear him opt out. This was his opportunity to really showcase his skillset. But if he was going to lose PT to Daniels and Bennett, than that is a HUGE concern.

Newman definitely has the physical tools for a decent QB prospect. He will have to really show out during workouts to warrant a high draft pick next year. If he opted out because he was in danger of losing his job, that is more concerning about his mental makeup than anything. He's definitely someone to watch in the offseason if the Niners look to make a change at QB.
