Give us a TRADE DOWN
Fixed

This is pretty much the only board that has me picking Mac Jones
I would look to trade down but if I couldnt I would take Jones. If Dallas took Surtain instead of Slater I would run to the podium and fix our OL by selecting the big kid.

I'd have a big dilemma, I have Slater graded higher so I should run to the podium. QB is just so important and it could be our best chance of an upgrade. I think I'm leaning towards Slater in this scenario though.

Allows us to spend #43 on Edge or CB which could be huge.

Doing TDN mocks lately I'm often choosing between Slater and Jones. I was big on Mac initially, still am for us, but I've been going with Slater lately. Cause like, if you're going to draft Jones but still let Jimmy start this year, you might as well just give Jimmy the blue chip O-linemen and legit give this our best shot ... then at 43 you can grab Ossai or a CB and it's a nice start

edit: didn't realize I was sort of parroting your last sentence

I'd be ok with any of the top 12 talents except for Parson. I'm hoping somebody in the top 10 reach and draft him so one of the good players slide to 12.
Mac Jones would be a massive reach.
Slater is who I want. But they never draft who I want so must likely they won't.
Maybe I'm oblivious, but why would Dallas draft Slater when they already have one of the best lines in the league? They were even able to restructure 3 linemen recently.
Can we just draft this guy and move on?

Dallas does NOT have 1 of the best olines anymore, their LT whose great yes is older and is always hurt and missed all of last year with a neck I believe and the year before that he missed a decent amount of games. Their center Fredrick retired and the other guys like the kid from Texas they took suck. They just paid Dak and he's getting paid 75 mil for this season so it would be the smart thing for Jerry to draft Slater or even defense but he's an idiot and would probably take a guy like Pitts for glamour after taking Lamb the year before when they should've clearly taken d

After his pro day i don't see him being there at 12 if he is we have to draft him. Projections now have him at 5 to Bengals

Bengals should and can definitely take him if the kid from Oregon goes. They can't let Burrow get massacred like he was last year especially after coming off a badly torn acl
pick has to be this guy or top CB
in that vid of him lifting all those weights it looks like he gets easily bullied. look at that coach trying to rile him up and he seems to get flustered. reminds me of jonathan martin. no thx

p.s. calm down im just kidding
Slater or Farley at #12. I am good with either one. To be honest I am good with any of projected players that will go in the top 12.
I've made up my mind. If I was a betting man, I'd put my money on slater as the pick at 12

Giants just released Zeitler, he's getting interest from them too probably

Hypothetical situation. How would you guys feel if we let Trent Williams walk, draft Slater at 12 overall to play LT. We use the money saved from not giving Trent a huge contract on upgrading other parts of the roster.

There are many positions where it's worth giving up and downgrading for a cost controlled option. Left tackle is not one of those positions.

I agree with Adrian, though it isn't entirely up to us. I thought we were a shoe in re-sign Emanuel Sanders, then the Saints presented a better offer.

If that happened Slater moves up near the top of our board (well still behind Pitts for me!) I think Brunskill can paper over the cracks until we get a better option in, so we wouldn't be absolutely forced IMO.

I agree with both of you that we should bring back Trent Williams. Just throwing out the scenario is all. Trent has said he is exploring Free Agency and you never know what can happen.

Do you guys think Slater is a viable NFL caliber LT? I believe so, not at Trent's level but I believe he will be pretty darn good.
