Rashawn Slater - OL

He ended up being pushed to left tackle to replace Skule and was a huge improvement there.

Yep. Brunskill has played well wherever he's been plugged in.

Hypothetical situation. How would you guys feel if we let Trent Williams walk, draft Slater at 12 overall to play LT. We use the money saved from not giving Trent a huge contract on upgrading other parts of the roster.

Need a 1st round QB. Hard pass on Mond, Trask, any of the other later QBs.

No Slater at 12. Sign T. Williams. Draft Jimmy's replacement at 12 or higher if have to move up.

100% 4% success rate since 2011 draft....Wilson, Prescott, Cousins, Carr. If you take Cousins and Carr off that list.......which I don't blame you if you do, it's 2% success...Wilson and Prescott, that's it. 96 QBs drafted after R1 since 2011, 2 have become true franchise QBs. It's math. Dart throw. Lottery ticket. Waste of a pick.

Backup QB's are people too! Mond looks well worth it.

You draft him, develop him and if he wins you games great, if he becomes trade bait when his 2nd contract is due, fine and you might just hit that 4% jackpot.

Fine. With our 5th round comp pick or later. At that point there are more misses than hits and low expectations, so I'm prepared for him to fail miserably.

Brunskill is solid at RG if he's finally just left alone there.
Adding a competent C in Mack while keeping Brunskill at RG is a big big improvement.
Realistically speaking, our starting line is set. I know some are saying to move on from McGlinchey but I don't see using the 12th pick to replace him this year.

TW-Laken-Mack-Brunskill-McG

We definitely need to draft depth but I don't think that's happening in the 1st.

imo the only guys we maybe take over Slater is Pitts or a CB (farley? surtain?) , but with that pool I would not be mad if they took Slater. It's improvement now and rock solid for the future.
Is he much better of a prospect than Darrisaw? How much better are they than Cosmi or Eichenberg?
He is going to be gone. TOP 10 picks.
I guess he could be drafted higher than the prospect from Oregon.
2 OT 3QB, 2WR and Pitts in the top 10, for sure

STILL WANT.

Trent and Slater at tackle for 5 years would be awesome.

Yeah I'd disagree with that. Not from what I saw. Sure at times he may have held his own up but overall not impressed at all with his play. An upgrade over him is definitely needed

Less likely but still possible. Especially with McGlinchey up in the air.

This.
I'm still down with Slater at 12, but we've got options now.
