I love Slater, but now that Trent is locked up, I'm no longer desperate enough to draft a tackle. QB is still the biggest issue on the team. If Kyle really likes Mac Jones / Trey Lance / Whatever and hes there, it should be the pick. If he doesn't, they can go elsewhere.
The repercussions for this regime will be awful if Garoppolo twists his ankle again and they have a losing record trotting out another backup.

Yes we have flexibility now and thats a good thing. I still would go 1) Lance or Fields, 2) Slater, 3) Pitts, and 4) trade down.

If McGlinchey balls, can't afford him. If he doesn't, we need a tackle. Does anyone know the average teams spend on starting tackles? Slater still has to be near the top of the list. Play guard for a year or 2 max, then move to RT.

Would love to have him, but I don't see him getting past Dallas. They always go BPA, and I feel like (if he's there) they would take him over the top corners. Plus their LT Smith has been having health issues, throw him at LG and replace Smith with Slater down the road. Just my opinion we'll see what happens.
Smith/Slater/Biadasz/Martin/Collins there right there again at having the best oline in the league. They did put a lot of stock in their line with Williams and McGovern in recent drafts but that can be high quality depth/trades.

This is a valid opinion but everyone can't be gone by 12. There are only 11 spots ahead of us lol. Pitts, Smith, 4 QBs. 2 tackles, Surtain, Horne, Chase, Farley, Waddle...and then there will be at least one surprise pick. Somebody is falling.

Yup. This is why I don't want to move (up or down really) unless I'm in love with a
QB and can get there without overpaying.

Trent and Slater at tackle for 5 years would be awesome.
Yep. He can play RG and then move him to RT in 2022. Might even motivate McWif to pass protect improving his trade value.

Hope he is there at 12. Take him and keep it moving. Out offense bullies teams, he would help.

Slater actually projects well at Center. He could start at RG and then flex to C once Mack retires.

Can't he just go to RT after 1 season?

12 is awfully steep for a center.

Go get him. Would solidify the line for years and should make things easier for JG or a potential rookie.
