I'd be happy with that.

I'd be very happy. Vera Tucker wouldn't be a bad consolation if slater is gone

Edit: unless you were thinking of Slater as a day one Trent Williams replacement I have Vera Tucker better at guard

If i had my wish, Trent would be back and Slater would challenge at RT, but ultimately play RG and support McG on the right side. Trent-Laken-Creed-Slater-McG isn't a bad starting lineup at all.

And yes, I do like the Vera Tucker consolation prize, too

This. Will take Vera-Tucker as well if Slater is gone.

Slater isn't gonna be there (he's my guy if we can't invest in QB)...Mills is a waste of a top 100 pick IMO. I don't mind Toney, he's a strictly 3rd down rusher (which is fine at that draft slot) his size is a bit of an issue.

Frank Darby I'd like Humphrey as well...still think they bring in a vet center like Mack though.
We don't need to spend this pick on OL. This line isn't that bad when healthy. McGlinchey needs to improve. That can happen. Alex Mack is practically begging to come here. That can happen (and he's a massive upgrade over not only Richie Rich's backup, but Richie Rich himself). So that leaves guard. Yeah, we could put slater there. But a day two pick would be an upgrade too.

There won't be a worthwhile tackle at 12. He'll, Slater will probably be gone anyway.

If Slater is there and they couldn't land a big QB, he should be the pick IMO. McG might not get the 5th yr option and Slater can play all 5 positions on that OL. s**t him next to McG in the running game...forget about it.

I doubt he's there though. Christian Darrisaw is another legit OL prospect, who fits this scheme perfectly. He's a top 20 pick IMO.

The reason I disagree is that, assuming we pick up Alex Mack, the oline will be almost exactly the same as the one that already went to the Super Bowl two years ago. They would need another guard, sure. But no need to spend a 1 on it.

That line was good enough with Jimmy at QB to go. The offense was not elite, but it was good.

That's why if I'm in control and I see Slater and Pitts available, I'm taking Pitts. Especially because if I'm the boss, I would have already added Mack, cut Richie Rich and added a veteran guard.
^^ Assuming no QB, as you said.

But if neither one is there, I'm probably trading down. Maybe picking up Darrisaw later. Unless an elite cb falls.

A lot can happen between now and the draft and it wasn't until last week when the hype on Slater started getting louder and his name slowly started moving from a top 15 player to a top 10, just edging before our selection, but this pick happens with the thought of the top four QBs going in the top 10, along with the top two corners, Penei, Devonta/Chase going in the top 10, and Kyle Pitts going top 10. Barring any trades, the Bengals are really the only top 10 team that is more than likely going OT in the draft. The Cowboys will be looking, for sure, but I think they go defense with pick #10.

Don't sleep on Mills. As far as hype, his train is picking up steam, especially after a good workout for scouts/teams right before the Senior Bowl practices. The screwed up Pac-12 schedule could be a blessing for the Niners and he's an excellent fit in this system.

Agreed on Toney, but I see good diversity in putting him almost anywhere in the front 7 on 3rd down passing situations.

Frank Darby but goodness he needs to fix his butterfingers.
Scratch Shaka Toney. Some better alternatives:

Patrick Johnson from Tulane
Chris Rumph Duke
Elerson Smith Northern Iowa
Jordan Smith UAB
Joshua Kaindoh - Florida State

also if you're looking for a later round corner, Mukuamua from SC and Keith Taylor. Taylor showed up at the senior bowl.

I also think Paris Ford is going higher than people think.
Much better than 1.0

First time seeing Perkins being considered in the 1st round. He's one of my under the radar picks in the 2nd or 3rd.

lmao what

Center, RG and RT are huge question marks. Even if Mack comes here, RG and RT need to be addressed.
