Shanahan can't help himself. He's going to take this guy.

He has Jordan Reed and I doubt Jordan Reed gets any significant offers from anywhere. Also, terrible waste of capital.

If we didn't have pressing needs like oline, dline and potentially qb i think this would have been a very nice luxury pick. Him and kittle would destroy defenses.
But alas I think he should be far down the list of who we should draft.

lol. I would not be shocked at all, honestly. Shanahan doesn't prioritize needs. In fact, they'll probably be looking at running backs in free agency again

There were 2 things that made taking a 1st round TE impossible.
George Kittle's contract, you couldn't draft a TE to come in and make more money to backup Kittle.
Kyle Juszcyck, too valuable to make 12 personnel a priority over 21.
If you resign Juice you absolutely can't draft a TE before round 3, if not, hey there's a chance.
I still don't think you can justify it, too many upcoming needs.

They have hunter Hemry who is a star. I think they go offensive line or Defemse.

But seriously Shanny has been wanting to run two TE sets with us here from the beginning (rumors of him wanting to trade for Engram last year, give Kittle some rest, signing Reed, etc.) is something I can see happening.
He also wanted to sign Hooper this past off season as well
Never at the same time though. When one was healthy the other was out. I think they suited up 2 times together? Reed is definitely not reliable. I'd be all for Pitts if we resign Trent and Juice. If not...let's go OL or CB

If Pitts is there at #12 do you take him if you are the Niners? Even if the TE position is not a need for the Niners. Just the thought of Kittle and Pitts both on the field at the sametime would be amazing.

Pitts should be there at 12 and KS and JL should not touch him under any circumstances, more glaring holes to fill than getting Kittle's backup in the first.

Who was the last first round TE that lived up to his billing? The only recent TE's I can think of are OJ Howard , Njoku and Winslow JR. None lived up to their draft stock.
