Laser timing? If there's no laser timing it's not much better than pro days with people trying to time them with stopwatches.

Agree, although in defense of the Exos's guys, 40 yard dash (and all the other metrics) don't always make an all pro player though. I would think there would be a hidden advantage to scouts -- if scouts who are familiar with zoom can have more zoom meetings with prospects. They don't have to travel a million miles, nowadays, to go see a player, just schedule a zoom appointment - and download some tape from their account (or have them sent by the prospect to the scout?). It can save time and money and can get valuable scouting data and build some sort of relationship with the prospect.

The thing about the NFL scouting combine is that not every prospect was invited to the NFL combine, and there were some guys that fell through the cracks that were able to make the teams later on. I remember reading something about Bullitt Bob Hays being drafted in the very very late rounds (he would be undrafted today) because he had to be on the Olympic team and couldn't be looked at by the scouts. That would be an example of guys falling through the cracks in todays covid environment.

Scouts in general are really going to earn their money this year.

Agree. I think a lot more Undrafted players will be making NFL rosters this year than in any other year because of Covid hampering a lot of NFL team's scouting efforts. With a lot of the games being cancelled, a lot of teams will have to project based on past games almost a year to two years old. That's really hard to do, I think.

In some ways its exciting because I think it gives us a greater advantage over the teams that don't pick as well. When you can find guys like Samuel, Kittle, Warner, Greenlaw, and even Jones on day 2 and 3, a team like ours should feast..

Roche it is then! That's a pretty average list!

Tilley and Preston are OK, the rest, meh!

I've watched a bit of Ojulari but haven't done much else, not excited enough by this group to get into them yet.

Agree. Scheme fit is going to play a big part in this draft if all the combines and personal meetings are reduced or canceled. I also agree that ShanaLynch has an advantage because of Peters and all his connections with college football. I wouldn't mind ShanaLynch trading down in the 3rd and 4th and getting multiple 5th rounders to get some picks for depth and cap savings.
All evidence and reports are that Carolina is desperate for a difference maker at quarterback. Give me a three-way trade! Miami gets picks 8 and 12. They can still get their wide receiver, potentially Micah Parsons which is a belichick and Tom Flores special, and offensive line with their third first round pick. Carolina gets Zach Wilson or Fields at pick number three, and the 49ers get Brian Burns. Brian Burns, in my opinion, is worth more than the number 12 pick but Carolina can't be beggars and choosers. We will have a lot to figure out with the salary cap in a few years, but at least arik armstead's contract will be off the books by the time Burns and bosa's rookie deals are up. Wishful thinking, I know

As fun as that would be, how would we pay him and Bosa at the same time?

Probably have to trade one off before they hit FA. It's a problem I'd love to have.

I'll take that problem. We'd have elite edges can make an average DT (like AA ) look above average.

Rookie deals or vet minimums at all secondary positions. (:

Sounds like the Rams!
Ojulari,Ossai,Tryon,Oweh Rousseau all seem very similar to me. None of these players will go in the top 10
