COULD this kid be the Simeone Rice that Lynch's been looking for ???

6'3" 225 lbs?

Even at his size, Rumph has been effective both as an outside rusher and lined up inside. Get this kid into an NFL weight room to bulk him up a bit and he still would be a great pick early on day 3.

This isn't that good of a edge pass rusher draft class so you better draft one in the 1st round or you might be disappointed. That's why I'm gonna continue to say draft jaelan phillips or azeez ojulari and then you add to your strength and you can rotate guys and hunt qbs in that 4th quarter with fresh guys.

Im not reaching at EDGE just because, there's a lot of depth in this draft and I don't think there's a massive difference in the higher rates guys vs guys in the mid rds this yr.

Roche in the 3rd is better value for me then Azeez in the 1st. You want a W9 guy go get Jones a little later.
Basham is a freak

Exactly. If there was a clear cut talent at 12 I wouldn't care and agree with Scorgasms philosophy, but for this draft it's reaching hard when a kid in round 2 or 4 could end up being just as good etc.

Agreed.
You guys make me feel good about the draft. Just hope JL/KYLE/Peters think the same....and ...i bet they do. Only thing is i hope this is a vote and it has to be all 3 or no go. If all 3 guys feel good about it fine. If kyle wants to jump up and take XyZ, then no. I hope those days are behind us. It seems the sentiment is if we keep # 12 and the guy isn't worth #12, then drop back and pick up an EDGE and OL later in first or late first , early 2nd.

JL has us in a position where we can truly take BPA (+ néed) and move down, a great spot to be in. Having that 3 picks in the 3rd doesn't hurt either. We'll get our EDGE...just a matter of where and when. Really sorry we lost Hyder ...but to SEA? That hurts.
patrick jones ii Is a guy I like that can be had after day 1...put his had in the dirt and line him up in the W9 and let him go.
boogie Basham is another guy that had some real good film...

that's a 280lb beast 20 straight games with at least a TFL

Really like me some Patrick Jones. My favorite EDGE after round 1.

#2 on Feldman's freak list...

2. Carlos Basham Jr., Wake Forest, defensive endFreakiest attribute:

One of the best-kept secrets in college football, Basham is a dominant player with 31 career TFLs and 15.5 sacks. He made first-team All-ACC in 2019 with 18 TFLs and 11 sacks. Basham's measurables stack up well with any of the Freak D-linemen that Clemson or NC State have produced in recent years. The 6-3½, 280-pounder benches more than 400 pounds and squats more than 700. Even more impressive, he's vertical jumped more than 36 inches and clocked a 4.21 in the short shuttle, which would eclipse any time by a guy his size at this year's NFL combine. The dude runs so well that Wake even has him on its kickoff team.

This guy would be a steal in the 2nd. Thanks for sharing.

I don't think this is a great edge rusher class, but like OL, teams should grab a pass rusher every year. These are the guys I'd target as of today:

day 1: Azeez Ojulari - Ojulari is a very nice pass rusher that can contribute day 1. This would be Jaelan Phillips if it wasn't for his medicals and being a quitter.

day 2: Joseph Ossai - he's raw but has the tools and traits to develop in this scheme and has shown enough hand technique that demonstrates an early grasp of the position. I think just fixing his snap anticipation will make him much improved, and that's something Kocurek can help him with.

Day 3: tbd. I haven't identified a guy I really, really want that may be there on day 3.

Yup, really like his fit in the niners defense. Would be a nice replacement for Hyder and nice compliment to Ebukam
That vertical doe....
