A QB I have seen mentioned is Kellen Mond out of Texas A&M, he's a Dak Prescott clone, a leader, starter for 4 yrs, if the niners don't pick a WB in the 1st I can see him being a target, I'm positive he's going to rise up boards after the senior bowl and combine.
I just went through a bunch of this dude's games. He's kind of nice! Especially for a day 3 QB. He needs to get with a QB coach to fix the way he holds the ball. He's got the Rodgers at CAL thing going on. But I like him for what he is as a day 3 guy.
Wouldn't be mad with this kid in 3rd.
Wasting picks on project QBs, after round 1 they fail at a huge rate. Since 2016, you have Hurts and Prescott after R1 and about 62 failures. Can it happen? Sure but odds are big against it.
Ok, so you're saying take him at #12 to beat the odds? Ok I'm down

I'm all for late round project QBs but not this one
He does the exact same thing as Jimmy, short passes missing guys open but Monds does it without consistent accuracy.
HUGE waste of pick. UNLESS, he can play that Taysom Hill roll. If picking him to play QB or backup QB would be a waste
Honestly if we're gonna go QB we gotta do it round 1. If not would rather go with Jimmy for 1 more year with Rosen maybe being a guy or bringing in a vet like Stafford. But first and foremost we need to solve our o-line problem or whoever is under center might spend time on IR.

Yup. Great stuff ain't cheap, cheap stuff ain't great.
My 2021 2.0 Quarterback rankings. A little bit of movement. Put a couple honorable mention guys in there. I'm done with these QB guys until after the combine and pro days lol #CRFBhttps://t.co/9MgALgegPg
A lot can change, but right now, in my personal opinion, if we want Justin Fields I'd do this deal:
#12, #42, 2022 1st and 3rd, 2023 2nd for the Jets' #2 overall pick.
If we want Zach Wilson I'd do this deal:
#12, the Robert Saleh 3rd rounder (probably #100ish), 2022 1st for the Falcons' #4 overall pick.
Might take a bit more or less and there might be some lower picks moved around. But as of now, before the National Championship and Combine, these are the meat of the two deals I'm willing to do to get a QB.
Pretty certain that 3 QB's go in the top 10. Very possible 4 go in the top 10. You've got Jacksonville, New York Jets, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Detroit, Carolina and Denver all possibly looking for a new QB. I think JAC, NYJ and CAR are all locks to go QB in the first. You'd only need one of ATL, DET or DEN to take one to make it 4. I'm in the trade for Stafford camp so the more QB's that go before #12, the merrier it is. It will allow a EGE/CB/OL/WR to fall.
Ideally you should be drafting a QB every year or at least every other year. Have a pipeline of quarterbacks going so if your starter goes down, you have some backups ready to go and you always have someone to trade away for picks if you hit. The idea shouldn't be that you land a franchise QB outside of the first round, which is extremely rare but that you find some competent backups and trade pieces along the way.
One of my criticism's of Shanahan is that he just got way too comfortable with Mullens and Beathard as backups, the competition at the spot should be a constant.

I agree there should be a pipe line of QBs, regardless of thinking that prospect is the future.... BUT for the love of god use a damn 1st on the most important position in sports at some point. This franchise has spent ONE 1st rd pick on a QB since 1998 lol and that's not because we've had a bunch of HOF QBs on the roster during that time span.
