QB Class 2021

Who knows. Maybe we're about to find out.

Rumors we are interested in Andy Dalton. Not the following QBs. RGIII, Tyrol Taylor, Cam Newton, Kaepernick, Andy Dalton. We likely won't get Dalton but it will be a similar QB.

Deep down we know what his mold is. Some are just tricking themselves into thinking otherwise.

Wrong That "rumor" is based off a NBC article where the writer was guessing at possible backups...which ACTUALLY also included...

Brissett, taylor, Trubisky, Fitzpatrick, Mariota so in reality no one has a clue.

Matt Stafford imo was the kyle pro-type at QB and they didn't even make an offer...They could have had Brady and said no thanks.

we have no clue.

I agree with you, but don't know if this is the best piece of evidence. As a backup, you want someone to protect the ball and run the scheme. At this stage, Dalton is also just simply a better QB than RG3, Newton, and likely Kaep

Same. Great points all around. I think we all know his preference is a pro style classic drop back QB who will stay in the pocket to execute his progressions. That's not to say he doesn't value an off schedule play but in his mind that should be a last resort and I think in his mind, most mobile QB's resort to off schedule plays too quickly which mitigates Kyle's excellent scheme, planning and play calling. After watching another pro style QB win the Superbowl and a generational athletic freak get pounded without pass protection, I'm sure his original view has been cemented. All that said, Kyle is certainly one who likes to evolve so in the end, it still wouldn't surprise me if he broke mold some looking for that Steve Young 2.0.

And there's no truth to that statement...it was a grab from a NBC article guessing at who the backup could be, it had a list of all kinds of QBs and they weren't all non mobile QBs.

we have no real clue at what he wants as of February 2021.

End of the day I'll be shocked if they actually draft a QB. They've been pretty "safe" when it comes to upgrading the team overall.

low risk (mid rd QB) low risk FA signings. Not being bold enough in their evaluations to be all in on a guy for the more part...at some pt that's got to change, but might not happen this yr unfortunately

I couldn't agree more. Fingers crossed. End of the day, this franchise is rich in HOF QB's. Let's find another one!

Thank you! Lol
LOL

Fields would be perfect for this team

I honestly think we should make a move with Miami on the first day of Free Agency to move up to 3 (maybe 12, our 3rd, 2022 1st), similar to what Philly did a few years ago to get Wentz, that way we can move on from Garoppolo right away, and use the freed up cap space to re-sign Trent Williams, Juszczyk, Verrett, etc. Then fill out the rest of our needs in the draft
Oh baby I hope so

So Mac Jones goes to the 49ers and Lance falls out of the Top 15?

SF gonna have to move up for McCorkle
This draft is so crazy. It really is unknown what each team will be targeting. With no combine and less visibility on pro days, each team has the ultimate poker face right now which could result in multiple trades.

QBs could go really high since this class looks really strong at the position, but Ojulari is seeing his stock climb....O-linemen like Mayfield, Jenkins and Darrisaw are seeing their names move up....Pitts is seeing his name more and more as a top 10 pick....

Can't wait for the draft!

Nope. Jones at 12 and then double up with Mond in the 5th. Everyone gets what they want.

First draft in history where 28 players will go in the first 10 picks.

I think the Niners draft every player in the first round by trading their first rounder for the next 31 years.

You forgot that QB that doubles as our Big WR
