Aaron Rodgers was up for #1 and then fell to 24. Crazy s**t happens in the draft. The Jets not picking Wilson wouldn't be crazy at all. Unexpected maybe, but not crazy.

Dude I clearly remember and thinking ... oh hell yes we are drafting Rodgers..then boom... Smith. I literally recall how sick to my stomach I felt. I just knew we fkd that one up.

Smith turned into a pretty good QB despite his early years. I think Rodgers dodged a bullet. Mike Nolan would have ruined his career too.

Looking back it was all on Nolan. I think if Kyle had a rookie Alex it would've been a much different story.

He was terrible and an egomaniac to boot. Passed on Rodgers because he didn't think he could handle his "attitude." Called Smith out for saying his shoulder was too hurt to play when he couldn't lift his hand over his head.

There is a reason no other team had ever considered him for a HC job after that run.

Yup, plus his stints as a DC afterwards were pretty bad. I honestly have no idea looking back why he got hired at all. Admittedly I was very young, around 5th grade, when he got hired so I have no clue who else was a candidate or how everyone felt when he was hired but man that was a dark time.

Ha! I'm sure many of the guys here do the same thing.
NFL executive ranks the 2021 QB draft class. There's a good chance this exec works for either the 49ers, Eagles, Chiefs, or Bears since those are the teams that Middkelauff has the biggest connections to. But I'm pretty sure it's Brett Veach from the Chiefs because Middlekauff once said Veach told him he loved Josh Allen at the combine, and he references that in this video.
