Dustin Crum, 6'3-210 lbs, Kent State
Pros:
*Elite arm talent
*Mobile
*Pocket awareness
*Extended plays
*Accurate (especially deep balls)

Cons:
*Competition level
*Although very good at it, I feel that he runs a little too much. Can't blame him sometimes playing behind a porous OL.

I'm pretty sure the Niners won't be in position to draft any of the top 5 QBs on the next draft. Hard to make any sense giving up draft capital to move up for a top 3 QB on a year where they need draft picks to replace some of the 30 plus FAs they have to resign with little cap space. Dustin Crum is a prospect they can get in day 2 or early day 3 to develop behind Jimmy G next season. Very mobile and accurate, he also improved every year which is a good sign for a any player.

Highlights were from last season. Game against Bowling Green was the only game I could find for this season. Don't mind the competition but he showed a lot of improvement with his release this season. Keeps getting better every year. Has a nice zip to his balls. Also, keep an eye out for his WR #23 Isaiah McKoy (6'3-182 lbs)

Dude throws the ball exactly like Kaepernick.

Last year he did throw the ball exactly like Kap with that long windup, but it looks like he tighten it up a bit this year. Still can see it a little but it's much better than last year.

Love everything but thinking about his last name on a jersey
Hot damn , imagine Lawerence running the Niners attack.

There are too many bad teams that might need a quarterback and the 49ers won't pick high enough. Is a guy like Matt Stafford (if he's on the market) worth a top 15 pick straight up?

if this team had "cap room"
If this Bama/FL game gets out of hand flip over to Cindy/Tulsa and check out Desmond Ritter.

He's not getting the recognition, but he could sneak into the 1st. He's got all the tools. I like what I see out of him.
Anyone projecting any QBs to the 2nd round? What's the drop off from the Mac Jones/Kyle Trask tier to the tier after that?

Imo, Trask and then Jones are the 2nd rounders, and it falls off a pretty steep cliff after that - probably to the 5th round
The toughest thing about evaluating QB's is their ability to navigate pressure inside the phone booth and knowing when to break the glass and make off schedule plays.

I watch these QB videos and I see ridiculous amounts of time and stretch routes that give QB's miles of real estate to escape to and make plays off schedule.

In the pros, that's not even remotely realistic. Pressure is under 2.5 seconds and the LB's & DB's are insanely fast at closing escape lanes.

So, from what you guys have watched, who has the best pocket feel/instinct/anticipation, whose most willing to stand in there and who's best making the most of off schedule plays? Who's the full package?

Yeah it's so hard to predict who can hack it when they're hit over and over. So many top talent guys get shell shocked and lose their swag after the beating going to usually garbage teams give them.

If we go QB early I hope Kyle really makes an effort to beef up the OL to ensure our guy won't be taking the beating other guys go through(although I'm confident Kyle can scheme things up to help a QB)

Dont quote me on this but I think Stafford will be cheaper next year than Jimmy in terms of how their contracts are set up

That's my only real concern. Escape artists like Wilson and Mahomes are special but so are guys like Brees and Brady in the phone booth without the long mobility although they rely on having top notch lines to aid them more.

I was just curious if there's any tape of these guys in more pro-like situations and what fans thought. Who would be a best fit for us whether we fix the unit pass protection or not?

But if he thinks he's the next Joe Burrow, who am I disagree with Shanny?

I'm okay with Jones in the first. I really like what I've seen from him. I just like a few QBs more.
