First time I have seen this many QBs in one year provide at least one elite NFL trait.

Jones brings the elite appetite?

Cant call the black quarterback dumb. But it's OK to call the white QB fat?

Oh you're one of those guys? It's a shame, I was watching a YouTube video about the Phillip Adam's murder/suicide. My first thoughts were how bad I felt for the family and possible CTE influenced. I made the mistake of going into the comment section.

"If it was a white man it would be national news and a hate crime!"

That was basically every comment. You're one of those people. I feel almost sorry for you.

Miss me with that b******t.

You work for an NFL team?

Where in her tweet does it say ask people who work for an NFL team?

If you don't believe it's a real--and persistent--phenomenon, ask some folks who don't look like you.

Congrats for being Nicaraguan but that has absolutely nothing to do with how NFL prospects are evaluated. It's obvious, and it's not a crazy notion to think that racism has reached every level of American life except for the NFL.

To be honest, it happens to white players all the time as well. I remember NFL experts trying to convince me that Joey Bosa wasnt a great athlete... what?!

What does that have to do with what i asked?

Do you realize you linked a tweet that elicited an inquiry to the reader?

I respect your analysis in general, but Tom Brady is a huge stretch for Mac Jones.

I can't say I watched Brady in college, and Mac's arm could improve, but Brady has a cannon compared to Mac. He's also nearly 3 inches taller and can stand in there, see all and make all of the throws.

You can say Mac is trying to be like Tom, but I don't think you can go so far as to claim that as his ceiling.

We may never see another Brady.

Exactly, that's what middle-class Brady means -- he'll try his best to be Tom but he'll never be that, but he could be a very very good pro that plays a similar style to Brady without ever having the same level of success. I hope that clarifies a bit.

Interesting way to show how a player projects, "middle class". So Dante Pettis is like a homeless Jerry Rice. Arik Armstead is like Reggie White on disability.

I'm kidding with you, but I think a better way is to find a player that compares to middle class Brady instead of saying "middle class Brady" because as soon as we start projecting prospects to HoFers it gets messy. I think Jones becoming a Matt Ryan-like player is a more descriptive comp imo.

Actually I'd say those are perfect! -- I was putting my own twist on the common phrase of "so and so is a rich man's/poor man's so and so"
This draft is tearing us apart, just like the elections. Can we please ban race talk?

It reveals what's already there.

Facts. All of it. Some did it to Nick too.

I watched Justin Fields vs Trevor Lawrence in the Sugar Bowl, and then an abbreviated version of Justin Fields vs Mac Jones in the National Championship (couldn't find the entire game on Youtube). I am sure I am not the only one to watch the games, and others surely have more professional evaluations than I do, but I am going to share my thoughts regardless. Justin Fields played a phenomenal game. If this was the only game people saw, he would be the first overall pick. So I know that is a poor way to judge a player, but just tossing that out there. But a couple of things of note. His deep ball was pretty impressive, but he wasn't perfect. Overthrew an open receiver in one case, threw to wrong shoulder in another (player did a great adjustment). There was one time he didn't pull the trigger, and throw the deep ball (only receiver that was remotely open) and took a coverage sack. It was also interesting to look at him post-injury. Post injury, he couldn't run the football, and never tried once. His coach tried to protect him by running mostly run plays. So he became a pocket passer, relying on a strong run game. If he truly was a running QB, the defense would have shut him down. But instead, he still did a pretty good job moving the offense down field. In fact, there were 2 deep strikes that punished a defense that was focused on stopping the running game. I would LOVE to have a QB with the deep strike ability of Justin Fields that could keep a defense honest, and not just focus on stopping the running game and short passing game.

In the abbreviated version of the National Championship, it is hard to compare Mac Jones vs Justin Fields. There were a ton of cases where Mac Jones completed a short pass, even behind the line of scrimmage, and then an Alabama WR would run for 10-20 yards. There were some nice strikes to wide open WR in the intermediate range. Justin Fields had some nice plays, but they were cutting out the non productive plays, so it is hard for me to grade him fairly.
