QB Class 2021

Same...I do think he gets propped up being surrounded by elite players and some of the best play calling in college football right now.

Just don't see him as a top 10 talent, but that's where you have to draft him if you want him. Would be very meh for me.

I mean, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that we're sitting at say, 12, and Jones is there. Guess you'd still be meh and I get it. I like Jones, but the upside is questionable. Floor seems decent but what's the ceiling? Still, if we got to the SB with Jimmy last year, kinda makes me feel like Kyle + Jones (with the right team around him obviously and say a year of seasoning) could be a super bowl worthy combo
My concern in a nutshell (with evaluating college QB's).

The problem is none of top QBs are under that much duress. Most of them play behind good-to-great OLs, so it's incredibly difficult to evaluate that aspect of their game. You can grab a play or two and try to extrapolate it, but it's really a crapshoot.

I think that's why Kyle loved CJ. It was glaringly obvious he could play under duress because he got his brains smashed in college. Dude played behind a OL that struggled, took a beating, and never flinched. I still believe this dude ain't all there up top from the abuse he took in college.

Thank you for that objectivity. That's kind of what I saw on tape too but I know some of you have far more film and put in a ton of time on these guys so wanted to see what you guys thought.
How can Wilson go higher than projected? A lot of people have had him top 5 for awhile and a lot are predicting 2 now that the Jets have fallen to #2 (bad luck Zach).

Jones has that D Jones/Haskins feel about him. Late to Mid first round at absolute best who is going to go top 10 Because someone going to fall in love.

Fields/Lance feel like they could drop a bit to me.
i dont trust shanny on qb talent

I do.
Pro tip: Be wary of QB prospects from blueblood schools.

The reason these QBs tend to look so good is that they rarely see muddled pockets and their OLs dominate the line of scrimmage and their playmakers usually get wide wide open.

Alabama's last good Pro QB was Kenny Stabler
Ohio State's last good Pro QB was never.
Clemson's last good Pro QB was Deshaun Watson?!?
ND's last good prob QB was Joe Montana
USC's last good QB was Carson Palmer

The SEC hasn't had a top QB not named Manning since the 1970s unless. you include the QB formerly known as good Cam Newton.

Aaron Rogers -Cal
Patrick Mahones -Texas Tech
Drew Brees -Purdue
Russell Wilson -NC St./Wisconsin
Lamar Jackson - Louisville
Andrew Luck - Stanford
Kurt Warner - Northern Iowa
Steve Young -BYU
Dan Marino - Pitt
John Elway - Stanford

Exceptions are Montana, Manning (2x) and Rady

Matthew Stafford? Ryan Tannehill?

Not to mention Burrow looked every bit the part before his injury and Tua has the Dolphins on track to make the playoffs.

Scout the player, not the helmet.
