QB Class 2021

... So what's the narrative now? All three -- coach, GM, and QB coach disagree on who to pick? I've now seen posters claim they've read or heard from sources that we've got the following right now:

Shanahan: Wants Mac

Lynch: Wants Lance

Scangarello: Wants Fields

Is this why we have multiple "leaks" that people are hearing it's all three? Because they literally can't agree on who to take? I think unfortunately for some fans, we all know wins in this battle.

Now are Mond or Mills going to be Brees?
Is the red lobster the shadow GM of this team? 👀

Matt Barrows of The Athletic recently answered questions from fans and was asked about Mike Shanahan's influence on the San Francisco 49ers' looming decision.

"Put it this way: Earlier this month, I called Mike to talk about his quarterback philosophy in general and to discuss his 2012 quarterback search in Washington," Barrows responded. "When he called back, the 49ers headquarters phone number registered on my phone. He was calling from Kyle's office."

The Alex Smith vs Aaron Rodgers draft pissed me off so much. To me, that was a no brainer.

All things were equal except for potential, which Rodgers had the edge. But stupid Nolan took the safer pick that did whatever he asked him to do.
Ugh. I remember that garbage

You have to wonder though what would Nolan and Singletary have done to Aaron Rogers career ?
With a stacked roster with less wholes to fill. Why not get both types of QB in the same draft? Maybe Fields in the 1st and someone like Kyle Trask, Peyton Ramsey or Ian Book in day 3. It should also put pressure on the 3rd overall pick to compete hard and not get outplayed by a day 3 guy. The more competition in that QB room the better our QBs will be. Let them fight for camp reps.

Either they are trying to play 5D chess by wanting Jones and trying misdirection by having him not train with Beck...

What for? Because they fear the jets snag him? Lol
I want fields. But gun to my head, he isn't the pick, and Jimmy is gone. Either Jones or Lance will be starting next year. Book it.

Great video. These guys wanted Mike Vick over Brady and Brees because Vick is athletic

Justin Fields will have a Vick type of career,

Mac Jones will have a Brees type of career

Fields is a wildcard, could end up like Elway or be a bust

I thought Mac Jones is the wild card. Limited player in the most perfect situation is a risk.
People keep saying Fields has a slower release than Lance, but it misses an important caveat: the time from when the QB sees the open guy to when the ball released is FASTER for Fields. I don't know why Lance does this, but many times he'll see the open guy and look like he wants to throw it, but he'll wait for a second. Sometimes it's clear he's moving to try to get a linebacker out of the way (a linebacker who couldn't possibly make the play on a ball thrown with touch), but other times there's no one obviously in the line of sight, so I can't begin to understand why. Is it a depth perception issue? Is it not trusting his eyes? Is it just slow reaction time? I doubt the latter because he has some great reflexes in the open field.

Anyway, point is, from the time the QB looks like he spots the open guy to the time the ball comes out, Fields is faster, regardless if Lance has a faster release.
I'm not sure I trust this team. I feel like it's a pretty good QB class. But something tells me the 49ers could easily pick the bust of the group. They passed on Mahomes and wanted Jimmy G. I'm not sure about their QB evaluation.
