It will be if we don't go and beat the Cards/Hawks.

You sure? We're at #11 now with a high SOS

I've got us going 8-10 if we lose out. If absolutely everything goes our way 6th or 7th a slim outside chance. Top 5 not happening imo and I wouldn't be shocked if the current top 5 is the final top 5 in two weeks time.

Assuming the Giants lose tonight and the Bengals lose tomorrow, the standings are as followed (not sorted with SOS factored):

1. Jaguars 1-13
2. Jets 1-13
3. Bengals 2-11-1
4. Panthers 4-10
5. Falcons 4-10
6. Texans 4-10
7. Eagles 4-9-1
8. 49ers 5-9
9. Cowboys 5-9
10. Chargers 5-9
11. Lions 5-9
12. Broncos 5-9
13. Giants 5-9
14-32 All have 6 wins or more

49ers losing the last two put them at 5-11.

Week 16 matchups:
Broncos (5-9) vs Chargers (5-9)
Eagles (4-9-1) vs Cowboys (5-9)
Panthers (4-10) vs Redskins (6-8)

Week 17 matchups:
Cowboys (5-9) vs Giants (5-9)
Redskins (6-8) vs Eagles (4-9-1)
Bengals (2-10) vs Texans (4-10)
Vikings (6-8) vs Lions (5-9)
Raiders (7-7) vs Broncos (5-9)
Falcons (4-10) vs Buccaneers (9-5)
Saints (10-4) vs Panthers (4-10)
Titans (10-4) vs Texans (4-10)
Chargers (5-9) vs Chiefs (13-1)

Thats 2 guaranteed 5-9 teams winning at least one more game. Absolute worst case scenario would be 11th overall. That's assuming everything else goes wrong AND the 49ers SOS is the best. You also have the Buccaneers, Saints, Titans and Chiefs all possibly having nothing to play for in Week 17 with seeding already locked up.

49ers will probably pick between 5th-8th realistically. I'll guess it ends up being 6th.

Giants lose and SF will be 13th with SOS

Yea but there are two weeks left. Looking at who plays who, the absolute worst the 49ers would pick would be 11th (that's if they lose the last two). To pick 11th, they would have to have every other result go wrong AND have the perfect SOS nightmare. Highly unlikely.

Currently the 49ers SOS is .536

All these teams are right around the 49ers in the draft order:

Texans (.562)
Broncos (.579)
Eagles (.552)
Falcons (.500)
Panthers (.526)
Lions (.505)

I'd bet that they won't pick any worse than 8th if they lose out.

Even with a top ten pick (assuming the 49ers lose out) I think they still have to trade up to get one of those top four QBs. I just don't think this regime will do that. I think they will go down with the ship. Now, you trade out of that spot, solidify the o-line (which KS doesn't seem to value - but this year ought to change his perspective), pick up a CB, re-sign TW and a few others, and I think they will be back to their winning ways.

Full disclosure, I am off the JG train, and would be happy if they went with a new QB. I just don't think they will do that, and with a solid investment in the o-line, perhaps JG has enough to get the team their 6th. I don't think so. But I would LOVE JG to prove me wrong.
I'm really not sure what we are going to do. Part of me wants to draft a top QB and another wants me to trade back and collect picks and re build our depth because we are going to lose free agents. The one thing I absolutely know with whatever way we go this team needs to address backup QB

Need some of the 4 and 5 win teams to win. Either way, I like that we're at least in position for a move up if need be.

The Broncos/Chargers play each other, and there are a couple games between the Eagles/Giants/Cowboys.

If we lose out, a top 10 pick is practically a lock. It would take the planets aligning otherwise.
Anyways, assuming we don't beat Arizona or Seattle, I think we get the 8th pick. Question is do we trade from there or hope one of Lance/Wilson falls to us?

What's the best possible pick we could get?

#4, theoretically.

Realistically will probably be around pick 8 if we lose out

I´d love trading up for Wilson if we need to.

Not to Lance for me because I can´t keep seeing Kaepernick every time I watch Lance.

If Saleh leaves they will get a 3rd. If Kwon hits an unspecified milestone with the Saints they will get a 5th. Losing Sanders should net a 5th round comp. So they should have enough extra depth picks without having to trade down.
b Etween 6 and 13
Friday night we were at 12. We lost and we are still at 12

The team that just beat us and now has the same record is at 8

I blame Mullens...
Browns have 10 wins. Patriots miss the playoffs. Ladies and gentleman your bizarro 2020

How sad, we lose to the cowboys and they still have a higher pick than us. LOL
