WITH THE 12TH PICK OF THE 2021 DRAFT...

When can teams call other teams to discuss trades in the draft?

We will find out draft day in April
I can see 4 QB's going in the top 5. Might be some trades though.

#12 is so bad. This team is so much worse than that. I can't believe we are picking that late. A couple of late season useless wins were not good for us.

Not bad at all. Fully healthy we are still Super Bowl worthy and at 12 will add another possible all pro to the roster. Like 5 qb's are gonna go ahead of us. Do the math. We will have our pick of the 7th or 8th best player in the draft. We will prob go oline with the first pick unless a stud edge is there
I would bet a lot of money that 5 QBs will not go in top 11.
Most likely a WR or CB will be BPA if 3-4 QBs go top 10

Depending on who takes the Jets job, that pick might be on the trade market. They are far from being a contender and getting a lot of draft capital might be in there best interest.

Plus I doubt any coach is going to give up on Sam Donald. Dude has had the worse coaching staff and talent around him since he has been in the league. Jets can easily trade down and still draft a QB while picking up draft capital.

Technically speaking, they can't execute trades until the first day of the new league year, but they can discuss anything they want.

Thanks.

When the phone calls start, then the rumors will start and a lot of the time rumors come true. If nothing else it will be fun off-season.

If the "right" coach goes there and knows how to use SD I think they could win 6 games next year. Trade down once our twice and get more talent around him.

From 6 to 8-9 the next year.

Lots of reasons to give up on Darnold. The GM there didn't draft him and a new HC could want his own QB rather than someone else's reclamation project, especially since Darnold's rookie deal is almost up. If he plays poorly, you'll need a new QB anyways and you might not be in such a good position to draft one again. If he plays well, you've got to pay him big money after one year of production.

Or you roll with a guy like Fields that you can mold and develop and you know you have him on an affordable deal for several years.
Think with your head and not your heart. The Jets are taking a QB. It's pretty simple.

New GM. New HC. New regime. Darnold (whether his fault or not) has soured. They have Seattle's 1st and 3rd Rounders this year from the Adams trade (also have Seattle's 1st in 2022). They have the picks to give a new QB weapons.

They're going to take their choice of Fields or Wilson.

I would be REALLY surprised if the Jets dont stick at 2 and select Justin Fields. He is just way too dynamic of a playmaker to pass up.

Patriots are parting ways with Cam, they're gonna get Stafford

Patriots need to realize that their time is done

LOL, as long as "The Hoody" is there, they're never done lol.

Phoenix and NY... would you trade our 1st round pick this year for Stafford? Im not sure I would but curious what you think.

Depends on what the market looks like for Stafford and what the cost would be to move up for a rookie like Wilson.

I'd be happy with a combo trade, like the 49ers 1st and 2nd for Stafford and Detroit's 2nd and 3rd round picks but if it came down to it, I'd be happy with giving up a 1st just for him.

I think Stafford would be scary good in Shanahan's offense, especially with the receivers they have now. Kittle, Aiyuk and Deebo would all be major beneficiaries of adding an experienced veteran passer that has extraordinary arm talent and wouldn't have the pressure of having to carry an entire offense on his shoulders for the first time in his career. If you get four good years out of Stafford and compete for SB's, hopefully winning at least one, to me that would be worth it.
The ideal situation for me would be:
  • trade our 1st for Stafford and a 3rd
  • trade Jimmy to NE for a 3rd

With no offensive line to protect him lol?

We will draft at least 2 offensive lineman and resign Williams. I also expect McG to be better next year.
