WITH THE 12TH PICK OF THE 2021 DRAFT...

Guys, most of this thread is dead wrong. ShannyLynch isn't drafting a qb at 12. We are drafting either a defensive lineman or an offensive lineman. Lynch values trench players over every other position (except qb). They aren't handing over the reigns to this team to a rookie qb. This almost certainly eliminates drafting a qb at 12. I know it's exciting to talk about drafting a qb because of potential. But almost all qbs fail. Very few turn out to be franchise qbs. Maybe one of the qbs hits, and it's not even guaranteed that any of these qbs, including Lawrence, will be better than Jimmy already is. There's too much risk. The zone is going to argue all off season about whether to take a qb at 12. It's just not in their dna.

Lol k...so let's be big pussies because we're afraid of possibility failing

never draft a QB because they almost always fail...lineman and defensive line never fail though amirite lol.

If they feel a QB is available that makes this team better in the long term, they will have no problem pulling the trigger and doing what that need to do to get him.

That's the kinda thinking that has people drafting a punter in the 4th round. moSt 4tH rOUndErS sUCk aNYwayS

HA

They spend 8 picks inside the top 100 on OL...spent even more in free agency since drafting Stafford.

He's the answer for what the 49ers should do this off-season though

Only if he was here.

So they drafted 8 OL + FA who couldn't RB AND couldn't PP? No bueno.

Why would we want the 3rd or 4th best QB unless he has incredible physical attributes like Mahomes who we can sit for a year or two?

If we're not trading the farm for "the guy," they'll be trading back for sure. And no, we're not trading 12 for Stafford. Sorry.

What's the biggest upgrade the team can make this off-season? An upgrade at QB is the answer. What QB is a guaranteed upgrade? Stafford is the answer.

That's the point. We're not in position for an upgrade, are we? Unless we sell the farm or unless we plan on sitting this rookie for a year or two.

I'll try to find that tweet of all of the medical issues with Stafford. He'll basically end of being the Dee Ford of QB's if he comes here.

And if he wins one super bowl it will be worth it.

Stafford is perfect for the 49ers. An inury waiting to happen. We don't have enough players on IR. Can always use more.
