Talanoa Hufanga -Safety USC

I really think we should get to know his name. Although covid has ravaged USC's schedule so far he has made an impact already. Super aggressive tackler with great awareness. Already has 2 picks on the season and a forced fumble in 3 games. Him with Moore in the secondary will keep guys head on a swivel. He would be perfect in a rover role like how Jamal Adams is used. Really good as a split safety as well.

I actually watched the USC/Arizona St game mainly to see how he's progressed. Maybe it's rust, but man, he missed a few tackles and saw some really bad angles he took when going after the ball carrier on multiple occasions.

I mean come on. The more the season continues the more good stock is going to rise. Probably a 3rd rounder at this point so can easily take the role Tartt could of had if he could stay healthy

Any one wanna give me more thoughts on this guy? I've been doing the TDN mocks recently and he's usually available near the top of the board around our... 4th pick? number 117 or something like that. His profile there seems to suggest he could be a possibility to add at SS with eventual starter upside. There are of course Safety prospects available later (again just according to TDN lately) but I'm just wondering why Hufanga is ranked above those guys / if he could be someone we might target

I'm not sure why we're not talking about this kid more. We could use help at Safety, he can rush the passer, he can cover, he can play near the line of scrimmage, I'm very impressed with him and we could probably draft him in the middle rounds. He just reminds me of another Fred Warner but at SS.

He looks like a potential replacement for Tartt at strong safety. He's a monster when he plays at the line. How are his cover skills?
