He had some AMAZING highlights. Athletic, with a strong arm, his physical potential was through the roof but he never panned out at the NFL level because he couldn't be consistent enough.

I watched that entire game last night and it was a mixed bag. Physical ability is there. Decision-making is kind of...eh. This was the closest we've seen him be under NFL level pressure and there was a lot of hit and miss. Curious to see him in a bowl game to get a second look versus another quality defense.

I don't need that with Lawrence because we've already seen him prevail under all sorts of conditions. Everything about him translates to the NFL pretty easily. He's got the size, arm, athleticism, pocket presence, ball placement and decision making and he's proven it against the highest levels of competition that college football has to offer which is why he's a lock to go #1.

Kinda funny that the Jimmy Garoppolo thread is full of 'get rid of him/do whatever you can to move up to get (insert favourite QB). Then someone takes it a step further and includes Bosa in a hypothetical trade scenario and the room collectively states 'slow your role, bud.'

It's gonna take more than a backrub to move up and get one of these guys.....if that's SF's intention, then they'll pay a steep price.
All of the above.

Exactly! The price to go up and get a QB is very costly to begin with but the bigger issue for us is that it prevents us from filling holes that our salary cap won't allow us to do in FA, never mind just trying to resign our own FA's. I'd love to go and get Wilson but no way we can do it and now were talking about Jones who I believe will be drafted in the top half of the draft, maybe I'm crazy but too many teams have a need at QB. I've lost some trust in Jimmy but the reality is our Oline and CB's are bigger needs than QB, we need a Edge rusher too for depth, Love Hyder and we need to resign him, but this draft has to fill the holes to keep pushing competition to stay balanced.
Kyle on what he looks for in a QB: "If you aren't an extremely talented thrower - which means it's effortless, you don't think about it, you don't have to go to all these quarterback gurus and work on your motion, you were born to throw - if you don't have that, it's very hard to succeed in this league. You're always looking for one of those seven throwers on the planet, whatever that number is. I'm guessing there's only around seven. I hope to get one of those seven guys."
The team can win with the QB's they have. If not for ONE incomplete pass, the QB would not even be in the discussion of drafting who and when. There are other holes that will need filling in the draft, QB isn't one of them. I'll be surprised if the team uses an early round pick on a QB. You should be too.
Why is no one acknowledging the masterful troll job that THL somehow has multiple people falling for?
Trade up in the 3rd round and draft a QB named TJ Beatfaster. It worked for them before.

Lol. Trading Bosa for some QB making plays against the University of Central Coastal Carolina Junior Community College Online University.

Not sure what point either of you are trying to make tbh.

If Wilson had future NFL All-Pro weapons like Jones you don't think he would look better?

I'm a fan of Jones btw. But it's silly to claim Jones fits this scheme and Wilson doesn't. Or that "we don't know" if Jones can master Kyle's offense but Jones can?

And as I proved in my previous post Kyle is more than willing to incorporate a mobile QB in his system he just has to make plays from the pocket.

Show me what plays Jones makes that Wilson can't.

Jones might be the best value so they will draft him because of that. But I also think Jones moves well in the pocket better than Jimmy... but still.

Trade the farm to the Cowboys and draft Wilson.

Wilson is a better prospect ut is he a better fit?

You want to trade the farm on the potential that Wilson can master Kyle's offense. That is why alot of QBs bust. Because a guy has more arm strength or foot speed doesn't make him the perfect QB for system in which he is being drafted. I'm not saying he can't im just saying we don't know if Wilson can be that guy. Everything Mac Jones is, is almost perfect for Shanahan's offense. As it relates to QB they don't seem to go for the shiny toy.

RGIII had more potential than Kirk Cousins but it wasn't RGIII that Kyle preferred.

Johnny Manziel had more potential than Brian Hoyer but it was Manziel who forced Shannyn to quit CLE.

Kaepernick had more potential than Beathard and Homer but it wasn't Kaepernick that Shanahan chose.

I'm sorry why can't Wilson run Kyle's offense?

Bolded

And despite of what your Twitter post says. I for one didn't see alot of Kyle's offense being ran by BYU.

In contrast, Mac Jones and Bama's offense makes Jones look like a seamless transition.

But that's just my opinion.

I'll take Jordan Reid's evaluation over yours no hate just value his opinion

I was starting to worry about you bro
If we were to draft A qb at all, my hope is that Mac Jones falls out of round 1. We have too many other needs to address that make trading up in round 1 a hard sell for me. Getting him in round 2 or later makes it so we can still get Jimmy some IOL help and we can see once and for all if Jimmy can get healthy and consistent. If so, Mac gets to sit and learn. If not, we've got an improved line that Mac can play behind.

Money is a issue though...39 free agents and not even close to enough cash to replace let alone up grade.

If SF moves Jimmy they would save the most cash by moving one player in the NFL next yr.

No worries. I like forming my own opinions instead of clinging to the twitterverse. To each their own
