I'd try and get Wentz or Stafford without using draft capital. Then draft an o line upgrade round 1, corner round 2, and you are right back in super bowl contention with a healthy Bosa and Kittle

Finally someone doesn't wanna sell the farm for Wilson. Jimmy G took the niners to the super bowl by managing the clock. An upgrade in OL and CB in draft with an above average QB means return to Super Bowl. K. I. S. S.
I think a first round QB is the way to secure a SB window, allows for more money to go to other parts of the team. But I'm wary about trading next years' 1st. But I will say that if Shanahan has his guy, it's absolutely worth it to get a FQB.
Under ZERO circumstances should we move WAAAAAY up. A few spots? Ok. But giving up anything of real value (top player or anything higher than a 3rd) isn't worth it.

The Chiefs are probably quite content trading their extra 1st for Mahomes. And that trade on draft day was far from a slam dunk. It's not useful to put any definitives on any move. We could stand pat and make mediocre picks that provide Solomon Thomas type value. We could move down and land a star. The point is there's no certainties, and if Shanahan wants a QB enough to trade up for, then by all means do it.

So what are you trading those teams to get their QB?
Jimmy is an above avg starting NFL QB. Mullens is a very good backup QB. If we commit capital to a new QB it should be all in for a player with traits to be a top 3-5 QB since those are the 1 asset proven to keep you competitive year in and year out in the salary cap era. There's about 4 guys with the makeup of that and if we don't get one of those 4 its gonna be redundant at best and window ending at worst. You don't draft QB just to draft QBs.

This.
I'm in the category of "no need to draft a QB."

Do you know what this means?

The 49ers will probably draft a QB with their first pick next April.
Having just been run out again by another mobile QB, it seems obvious that should be a primary consideration.

The game isn't going to change in the foreseeable future. It is about passing and putting pressure on the passer. Mobile QBs that can escape a pass rush and EDs that are quick and agile enough to catch those QBs are the formula to win in the next decade. Wilson appears to check those boxes. Whether or not he checks all the rest will be up to Shanny. If the defense cannot do better than they did last night, a major move up may not be so major after all.

Lets hope so
Do what It takes to get one of the top 3 QBs In the draft.

Ding ding. We have a winner. I feel the same way. We need a FQB bad, and I think last night was just another showcase as to why. We can't keep up if teams score points quickly and force us to throw.

Gotta hope Fields or Wilson punch a girl on video or something. If not draft my boy Penix later on.
Trading up to draft one of the top 3 remaining guys is not how this team operates. Kyle and Shanny draft their guy. They don't settle for anyone. They isolate and target specific players.

It's simple: if Kyle absolutely loves a QB enough that he's willing to move up for him, he'll move up for him. If he doesn't, he won't.
