Sorry
Davis Mills was a big disappointment at Stanford but much of that was due to little injuries that kept slowing him down. It didn't help that Stanford hasn't had a lot of talent the last 3 years. Their recruiting has been terrible like much of the rest of the PAC 12. He might be worth drafting in the 4th if he lasts that long. They have three 5th rounders so they might be able to move up and get an early 4th.

THIS.

Mills definitely has an intriguing skillset, but after all the injuries we've had at the QB position, makes me real nervous to invest in him unless it was a 5th round selection.
I'd take him as a replacement for Mullens or Beathard. He was a five star recruit to Stanford, widely considered their top QB recruit since Luck. Talent is not an issue for him, its all about health. If you can get him in the 4th or 5th, he's worth a shot to see if he can turn it around, at that point the talent to draft pick value ratio is extremely lopsided although I could see him going earlier than that with all the teams now running the ShanaOffense.
I'd take him in round 25

I can put you on timeout until Round 25 so you have plenty of time to properly evaluate him.

Too lazy to dig..is there any reason to believe that his prior injuries are still affecting him or that there is a substantial risk of reoccurrence?

Really hard to tell. I guess that question will come up if he has a pro day since there isn't a combine this year. Unless it's a chronic thing like his back or some degenerative thing, you can never really know if he will continue to have injuries. Even Jimmy, who's had 3 injuries causing him to lose 5 games or more could go on to have an injury free career.
Interesting. Dude reminds me of Josh Rosen in those clips.

It's a lot more likely that Kyle wants some under-the-radar QB like Mills than one of the top 5 guys. A hard pill to swallow for the guys coveting one of the top 5 QBs.

I agree it's a more likely choice than using #12 unless someone slips back.

He's had a few knee injuries but I don't believe any of them were particularly severe. I don't think he's ever torn an ACL or anything.

Good read. They even mention the 49ers being the best fit for him.
"He may not do much to get you excited, but Mills looks like he'll be more than capable of operating an NFL offense with the traits he displays. The biggest is easily his quick decision-making. Mills' 2.39-second average time to throw on non-screens, RPOs and play-action passes was the fourth-fastest in the nation — even edging out Trevor Lawrence. And on such throws, he earned an 84.0 passing grade."

He'll definitely be on Shanahan's radar, especially playing in the same backyard.
