I would take a chance on him. Looks to have all the tools, I read he is pretty fast also.
Definitely has some intriguing tools and got a bad break having to wait behind the inconsistent Costello, battling nagging injuries, and then COVID.

Could be a blessing for the Niners.
Sign me up too to fill out as a backup if Jimmy is it for our starter next year. Can compete for the backup competition and sit for a year to learn the system. Who knows maybe a future starter once developed and his injuries are behind him.

And on such throws, he earned an 84.0 passing grade."

He'll definitely be on Shanahan's radar, especially playing in the same backyard.

Phoenix I forget what thread you posted this in the other day--maybe the OL thread--but it was basically the possibility of us passing on QB at 12 (or all the relevant ones being gone), trading down with both of our first two picks (12 and 44), then going something like Edge, CB, C, G, with our first four picks -- were you planning on doing a mock with that strategy anytime soon? Maybe Mills fits in after those first three or four picks? I've been, like a lot of people, intrigued by the possibility of going QB with our first pick, but your idea sounds like a great alternative
This guy seems to have a lot of upside. Definitely worth a later round pick—if he's there in the fifth, snatch him up!

I haven't really started organizing prospects in any meaningful way, just trying to catch up on a bunch of guys that are likely to be middle rounds picks, focusing on center, guard, CB, WR and edge rusher. The interior OL class is looking very good, even better than I was expecting a few months ago and the edge rusher class is surprisingly better than what a lot of people have said, some nice depth in both areas.
Wow, check out this play. The dude goes up and high points the ball. Webzone be like, "OMG WE CAN GET OUR MOBILE FRANCHISE QB AND BIG-BODY WR IN ONE MOVE "

He's a hard worker, brings his lunch pail, blue collar kind of guy, scrappy, very gritty, plays the game the right way, plays with a lot of heart, lots of hustle, gets the most out of his abilities. He's sneaky athletic.

Just watched his game vs Oregon State. Dude balled out. His mechanics and build are identical to Josh Rosen. He looks exactly like him on the field lol. Not a bad thing at all. Just an observation.

The dude definitely looks the part of a 5-star recruit.

I think he moves a lot better than Rosen who too often has played the role of statue.

Thanks—great news for us for sure. And good idea focusing more on mid round prospects at positions of need. Usually everyone's all over the top guys (understandably), but we're probably only gonna end up with 1 or 2 of em at most. Much as I'd love the shiny new first round QB, a trade down and getting good looking prospects at edge, corner and IOL would be exciting too
Nice size, solid thrower certainly smart and talented with upside. Watch Kyle use a high pick on him ala Beathard if he likes him alot.
I've already said I wouldn't mind seeing the Niners pick him with that 3rd rounder they got for Saleh or maybe in the 4th if he slides that far. He was a 5star recruit and was considered the top pocket passer coming out of high school. Then he had a series of injuries that kept slowing his progress and Stanford's roster didn't help either. Wouldn't it be crazy if he gets drafted in the 4th and becomes a solid NFL QB after struggling in college.

Or teams draft him higher than where he supposed to go as its a QB especially like many said that he was a top recruit and was slowed by injuries. I would be ok using the Saleh comp pick. Question is if certain team values him higher with all the tools and upside that he has. There are a few teams with aging QB that are also in the middle or back of the draft that might think that trading up in the top 12 is too much for them. Teams like NO,NE, Pitt, TB, Dallas, Denver and of course us who will be looking outside the top 5 QB. May he go earlier than our comp third then is the question.
