What to do? OL vs QB

So much dilemmas this off season. Should the 49ers draft an OL in the first or draft a future QB? Jimmy is good when he had time to throw. But at the same time there are good QB prospects that is within reach of the 49ers current draft position. Very tough for Lynch and Shanahan this off season. What to do and what to do?

It's a frachise-future off season decision. If its made right, 49ers are contender for a long time. If its wrong, it could fall apart very quickly.

What would you do?

Webzone: QB

NC and others: OL

ME: BPA - let the chips fall where they may.
If you don't believe you have a QB, you get one, especially if you are picking top 10-15
QB. The OL is a solid center away from being passable. When you have a giant gaping hole at the position it makes everyone look worse.
Slight edge to QB. I think Jimmy is good enough to win a Super Bowl, but given the talent on this team and the play caller we have, this is a ream that is poised for a run given the talent on this team. The way teams are locked in to defending the run, an elite QB should be able to feast on offenses.
If you think your guy is there you go get your QB.

If you think Jimmy is your guy you do what you can to protect and give him the best chance to succeed so OL.

Keeping Jimmy and drafting a QB in the 1st is half and half that probably won't give Jimmy the best chance to succeed.
In a perfect world(my perfect world) we sign a couple interior guys in free agency then draft Mac Jones
... AS I was saying.... I'll email John Lynch and tell him that Jacksonville could be our trading partner this year..

we'll offer them the 10 to 12th spot of the draft (our 1st round) for their...

26th overall, their two 2nd rounders and their 3rd..

so we will be giving them our 1st and throw in our 4th in 2022... and in return, we get 4 picks from them (1, 2, 2, and a 3)...

then we go OL, CB, CB and OL..

This...it's common sense.

When you're in a position to get a FQB and you don't have one nothing takes precedent over that.

They can also use that freed up $50M (over the next 2 yrs) to upgrade OL.
This is easy.... if a QB doesn't fall to us then we trade back and add a 2nd or a 3rd and 5th

So then you're keeping Jimmy, right?

They would more than likely have to cut him before the draft because FA starts before the draft.

Yeah it's not blindly QB just to take QB but smart move is to go QB. Cheaper and you hope you can develop the kid into an elite talent.

I still think Jimmy can be a good QB for us but his salary and availability issues cannot go unnoticed.

OL is super important and we need to keep Williams or it's a huge issue but C/RG are the biggest issues. If Richburg is back C is good(though proper depth is key with his injury issues)

Either way RG and C isn't early/mid first round picks needed. You can find great players at those spots later in the draft.

Get QB in the first. Grab IOL and CB after.
If you don´t have a good QB you look for a good QB.

We need a good C + McGlinchey with 20 pounds more and the O-line will be at least average in pass-pro.

Plan A: Zach Wilson
Plan B: Trade our 1st for Stafford.
Plan C: Trade down and get Mac Jones.
