What to do? OL vs QB

Not sure Cincy would go Chase at 5. They're actually at a pretty good place with WR with Boyd, Higgins and Green.

Right. Boyd and Higgins are excellent. Trading back a little for Pitts makes way more sense. Doesn't ATL take a huge cap hit if the move on from Ryan?

Draft a QB in round 1? Nope. Not this year. For several reasons....

1. Our OL is hot trash. Has been for a while too. Last year, our running game and short passing game hid a lot of problems with the OL. They didn't need to be great in pass pro. Jimmy can get the ball out quick when he's got Kittle and Debo to dump the ball off to and our running game is clicking to make the play action a threat. We didn't have all that in 2020.... so the holes on our OL became more apparent.

2. Jimmy is a top 15 QB. He seems to be injury prone and is good for 1-2 really bad throws every game. But 90% of the time, he makes quick and accurate throws. He is also experienced in Shanahan's offense. I don't see anybody being able to come in and do as good of a job as Jimmy anytime soon.

3. We are still a win now team. All the injuries in 2020 ruined the season. But we are not a team that needs a rebuild. We need to continue to draft BPA and replace veterans that leave for various reasons.

4. Most important reason here I think..... the 2020 college football season was.... weird. I don't think this was a good year for evaluating top QB talent. Many top teams in the big conferences barely had a football season. I think there is a very high probability of top picks in this upcoming draft being major busts. OL is a safer pick.

OL hasn't been particularly safer recently.

On the real, this was an open question on all positions. Yes, even DL.

There is no way that would work with Nick Mullens.

Yeah I'm pretty sure they take on HUGE dead cap hits if they move him.
Trade back with Miami. Take #23 and #36. Take Carlos Basham #23 Alijah Vera-Tucker #36 and Eric Stokes #45.

Ryan is unmovable for at least a year. They can draft a QB as an eventual replacement but he'll be their starter next year. Also Shanahan and Ryan didn't exactly part ways on great terms so I'm not sure why people keep proposing a possible reunion between them.
This is a dumb thread. Anyone who has followed the team for more than half of this season should know we arent looking at anyone other than a defensive lineman with our first round pick.

My OL wouldn't have had him in there this year and would have protected him in the Superbowl FTW.

If they go edge without a trade back, we need to see 85 Bears level of defensive domination lol.
