Landon Dickerson, Center, Alabama

Well I'd rather roll the dice on an injured guy than one who didn't put any tape out there this year.

I get why we'd be hesitant, but this guy seems worth the risk.

Also what's the alternative? Lindsey will cost the earth, Alex Mack is old AND injured, Richburg is injured, Garland is trash.

Brunskill may develop, but who cares, he's so versatile it won't hurt to move him around again whenever we need to.

The 49ers have no money and Kyle clearly doesn't want a rookie center, so their best bet may be to just roll with Richburg.

2) Kyle wants a center making all the calls at the line. A rookie isn't ready to handle that in this offense.

Landon Dickerson knee may not heal correctly and he mite not play next year. Like Kentavius Street didn't really play his first year. If he falls to the 4th or 5th great take him but second I would rather draft a heath player at any position that can help next year. I'm really tired of them draft injured player and then they don't work out well for the team. Draft him in the 5th round and do not count on him playing.

I don't think it was an ACL. No way they let him warm up before the championship game and put him in at the end if it was an ACL. Probably MCL and miniscus.

Maybe, but who knows how he's recovered. If we're doing that I'd want a backup option, and yes even an injured one.

Another year of Richburg would mean less dead money, but are you re-signing him?

My plan is to bring in Dickerson, if he's not fit or can't handle the calls (I don't think this will be the case) start Brunskill until he's ready.
Great article, confirms ACL and also the off the charts character

Always been a big fan of him since the FSU days, he's a straight up enforcer...reminds me of a bigger Ryan Jensen.

Issue is he can't stay healthy, I think he's only played center for like 9 games as well.

That's fair, he's also got Guard flexibility, guy is a hoss, and moves really well.
I'm all in on Landon, Draft Dudes latest pod has an interview with Jim Nagy, the Senior Bowl director. They asked him who stood out from a behind the scenes character perspective, he went straight to Landon, waxed lyrical about his leadership and being like another coach.

He then realised he was digging himself a hole and said that everyone was great.

He's well on his way to playing from his ACL, sign Mack, draft Landon and put him at RG, have him absorb everything from Mack and replace him when he's done.

I'm on the Dickerson boat, too, but man, all those injuries are a HUGE red flag. Gotta love his playing style, tenacity, and leadership, though.

Yeah, it's true, would need a big discount

Besides his injuries, I've seen some scouting reports that say he would be better in a power, drive blocking system, not one that asks for a ton of movement. Something to consider since the Niners run a zone blocking scheme.

That's just because he's huge, he moves very well for a big guy. Bama use some zone concepts and he's great at reach blocking.
No issues there.
did he drop to a day 3 pick?

I doubt it, the fact he's already been running and back on the field (albeit a gesture) shouldn't drop him too far.

It's actually a good thing to have previous ACL injuries IMO, the hardest part is coming back and playing well, once you've done it, it gives you the confidence to do it again.

I'd hazard a guess at late 2nd, early 3rd. So we'd need to manoeuvre a bit.
