Spencer Brown, OT, Northern Iowa

I know we're all about done with MM so I've tried to watch more tape on offensive lineman and this kid caught my eye.

I love his feet and hand placement. He moves really well, perfect for a zone scheme and he has experience playing RT.

I'm not sure where he will go in the draft but I'd take a flier on him.

Lmk what you think.
I don't think there's anything wrong with McGlinchey that some serious strength and conditioning can't fix but more competition at the spot is always nice. Primarily I think center is the biggest issue and will remain so until they find someone that can play it at a high level and remain healthy.

How can you want MM and TW back while also keeping Jimmy at 20+ million?

I agree center is the biggest issue on the line but MM's only issue isn't strength. He's been awful in pass protection with his feet and his hands. That's not something conditioning will fix.

At MM's best, he can be an average starter which is good enough provided we improve at IOL.
The ironic thing about Spencer Brown is that one scouting report lists his NFL comparison as........Mike McGlinchey

Honestly having seen a bit of him, I feel like he's a lot more athletic than McGlinchey. Athletic people mover that plays with more quickness and power than McGlinchey could dream of. He's badly in need of some coaching but the raw athleticism and talent is all there.

18. Spencer Brown, Northern Iowa, offensive tackle Freakiest attribute: Chiseled size

NFL scouts are very intrigued by the towering FCS O-lineman who's 6-9, 325. The former tight end bench presses 500 pounds (despite 35-plus inch arms) and squats 600 pounds, going below parallel, says his position coach Ryan Clanton. "His flexibility and speed at his size is unmatched," the former Oregon offensive lineman said. "He's got Kyle Long's big, lean frame mixed with Mike McGlinchey's height. My favorite thing about Spencer is that he wasn't just born with it. This kid is from Lenox, Iowa, population 1,400. Farm kid, eight-man football tight end in high school at about 230 pounds. … He's currently 325 pounds and ripped. Work ethic is unmatched, love for the game is through the roof and has a crazy high ceiling. No fat on him."
Yep, definitely a lot more athletic than McGlinchey.

Nice
I wish Staley would keep things hush hush on the guys he's working with except when giving us the info.

Wow, I went through his tape and came away super impressed. The dude has crazy bend for a guy that tall. He can get low as hell, which is where most guys that tall struggle. He's also nasty. Always love that. I wonder what round he goes in? Those tools are tantalizingly
