Would have been better if he'd anticipated the blitz, and threw to his actual hot read which was the slant.

I like their TE #85 Wydermeyer I think, looks reliable, he blocks and has great hands, not sure if he's eligible as I haven't heard anything of him in the media.
He's a Sophomore, will see him next year. Not convinced of his athleticism but looks very solid.

What slant? There was only one slant (the one he threw). Going from left to right; 1, 2, 3, 4:
1: drag
2: out
3: deep out
4: slant (thrown here)
5 (RB) wheel
If you mean the drag, sure he had a window, but it would require the WR running through a tackle. Now, the angles suggest this is possible. If you mean WR3, that was not a slant. He was running a deep out, and didn't look at the QB until his break.
But the main point is the accuracy falling away into a tight window. If you can't make that throw you'll never be a respectable starter.

It was #1, it turned into a bit of a drag, but I thought it was supposed to be a slant that he just flattened. Anyway he was the hot read against that blitz, throw quickly into the space vacated.

Possible, but it's an understandable no-throw given the linebacker. Furthermore, given that the Wr on the right was actually running a slant, that was probably the built in hot route, which would mean he did indeed anticipate the blitz and threw to where on paper he was supposed to.
Of course the drag was an easier throw, and the WR would have a decent chance of out running the CB and breaking the tackle of the LB given the angles. But that would be a different issue, rather than blitz anticipation, because usually in a blitz the slant is the built in hot route, and that's where the ball went.

He certainly didn't anticipate the blitz, you can tell that by his footwork (which is far too slow in general) he reacted pretty well to it, but on 3rd & 6 he should have been ready for it.

Possibly, but I wonder if that was because he had to wait for the hot. Maybe he didn't anticipate such good coverage, and was holding the ball. He certainly seems to be staring the WR down.
Maybe he just trusted he'd have time to throw it. I don't think his apparent footwork urgency can say for sure. Maybe. But maybe not.
What would have been the differing action you think he would have done if he anticipated the blitz?

He seemed to sort of wobble after his cross step, I'd have liked him to plant immediately after the cross and throw. I think that would have shown he was ready and in control. It's still a really good play, just seemed like he reacted to the pressure rather than anticipating it.

That's fair, but how does one anticipate pressure that doesn't show itself until the snap?
Anyway, the only positive that this shows is he can fire it into a tight window in the ten yard box. He has some inconsistent accuracy and doesn't always throw with anticipation (although on the other hand I've seen several great throws that should have been caught get dropped; dude doesn't get much help — but that doesn't change the fact that he has lapses in accuracy). He does have a rocket launcher though, and despite his high, rigid grip, he has a fast release.
I feel like he does play with urgency, but sometimes that boarders on spastic.
Lot's to like for a value pick. Unfortunately his draft position will be inflated. No way he escapes the second round.

The down and distance should have been the main tell, anyway he's no worse pre snap than Zach Wilson or Justin Fields.
I agree with that summary on the limited I've seen of him so far. He'd have much to learn for our system, the footwork from under center concerns me, and I agree he can look a bit frenetic.
He also runs scared which I don't like, even if you want to avoid hits, be positive churn up yards and then slide. He looks like a deer on ice, even though he clearly has athleticism.

Watched the Tennessee game, showed more purpose running which I liked, and he looked great, big time line drive to beat a Safety and I was sold on the Day 2 hype. Then he threw an awful pick.
Got through the 1st half of the LSU game and he looks like a late round flier at best, poor decisions, and almost scattergun like accuracy.
I won't discount the other games and I need to finish, but I've cooled on my Day 2 assessment (still better than Trask for me though!)

Well, Mond and Trask are probably who we'll be picking from. Ugh. Could have lost our way to a franchise QB.

Have you seen this game? It's from two years ago. It was a crazy ass game, and I remember watching it live thinking the A&M QB was pretty good. I totally forgot it was Kellen Mond going toe to toe with Joe Burrow in OT until I revisited it a few weeks ago. Mond threw a couple of lasers in this game.
