Doghouse maybe? Really odd.

I think Zimmer is gone, but that was weird.

Zimmer seemed done with the team since the preseason. I think he is a good HC and would get another shot immediately if he wanted to but something about the vikings sucked his soul.

Lol but remember when Simms hyped up Mond in his rankings
Mond must be doing a Nathan Peterman impression in practice.

Give him time

Yah, that's seriously crazy. I can't think of the mindset that would have a s**tty journeyman play over your potential future franchise player... but hey, I'm not an NFL coach.

Give him an incentive to earn playing time with an amazing offseason. No freebies. Only way to keep millionaires motivated.
Wasn't he a senior if not a four-year starter? Not sure if I'm remembering correctly but he certainly not a ball of clay simply needing to be molded

Same here. I know Simms knows his stuff but I just cannot wrap my head around this one. I watched plenty of Mond and I feel like I have a good understanding of what he is and isn't. He's a good athlete with a cannon, but def not a natural qb with innate feel or fluidity. He's very robotic and straight line, if that makes sense. It's like he took coaching fine but it takes away from his natural athleticism. I don't think he will ever be a serviceable nfl qb.
It was off they wasted a third on him, they had a great draft outside of that but will still be in the qb market till they find one.
It's pretty obvious that Zinmer was never on board lol.

I'm with you here Bama. I was never a fan of Mond either and didn't know wtf everyone saw in him, he reminds me too much like Kaepernick. The most natural thrower IMO after round one was definitely Davis Mills who was kicking and screaming to draft but that's history now.

I mean, Mills has had a solid rookie campaign... let's not crown the guy yet.

Wanting to draft a player badly is crowning the guy??

Not entirely weird. Right or wrong, speaking to the media (or dealing with questions you don't care to answer) is not everyone's cup of tea under the best of circumstances.

When your team sucks, is mediocre, or under performing, etc. it's probably even worse to fulfill your media obligations.

That said, you get paid to do so, so you got to do it even when you do not want to, but you don't have to be chipper in the process.
Before the Niners made the trade up for Lance, this guy was a draft crush who I thought Niners could pick up somewhere on day 2 of the draft. Going to be interesting to see what happens with this kid, now that Zimmer and Spielman are both gone. Those two saddled the Vikings with Kirk Cousins and a ridiculous pricetag that will keep them from succeeding for at least another year. Mond will have an uphill battle unless the new regime gives him a chance to shine.

I would have said "won't happen until earliest 2023, you don't bench a QB with that kind of cap #" but with an all new staff coming in, who knows.
