If he ever gets his crazy throwing motion fixed, a creative playcaller might have a solid QB.

Agree, after round one the QB failure rate is astronomical. You have Prescott and Hurts (so far) in the last 6 years picked after R1 and successful.

I get that they should always be developing, but when you don't have an answer at QB right now(which imo they don't)...you can't pass up the chance to go get a guy, so you can take some Joe blow on day 3.

The then Redskins did it with RG3 and Cousins, why not us?

I'm going to watch some more Mond, this thread has me intrigued.

Is the success rate much better if you include 1st round guys?

IMO you should draft a QB every 2 or 3 years, your backup situation is important and if you hit you're set, even if you have a starter they're then trade value.

Over same time frame first rounders failure rate is 9/19. I gave Wentz and Daniel Jones a positive nod but not Tua or Goff. So after first round: 96% fail, first round QB failure rate is 47%. Granted guys like Winston, Goff, and Mariota were all counted as fails but each had decent seasons at some point, which pretty much can't be said for any of the guys selected after R1...your Falk, Peterman, Kizer, Ettling, Woodside, Kaaya, etc.

"Intriguing".

If we don't throw the moon at the Texans, and if this guy falls to R4, having him sit behind Jimmy isn't the worst thing in the world.

Not sure how Jones gets a positive, you could argue Drew Lock is as good, but heh ho.

I'm talking capable backup, so guys like Heinecke count, and loads more have incomplete grades. In the past guys like Brissett, Keenum and Tyrod Taylor would all be positives.

I'm happy to fire on multiple QB's, not sure if Mond is one yet, but I'm interested to look.

shouldn't be much of a plan in regards to who should be the starting QB in 2022.

Dude's footwork isn't very good, his elbow out high release is weird. I get shades of Kap when I watch his play (and not in a good way). He just seems very stiff.

I mean as long as they draft Wilson/Fields/Lance in the first do whatever later as far as QB goes lol.

I'll pass on him being the "plan" as far as the future starting QB goes. Overall he looks stiff, I hate how he holds/releases the football, and his footwork isn't good.
Chris Simms has Mond rated higher than Fields and Lance....Simms QB pre draft QB ranking has been solid last few years (Lamar, Mahomes, Herbert)

How was he right with Jackson as his #1? Dude isn't a great throwing QB at all.

simms had Haskins as a top 10 talent as well.

Draft him so I can say "yah Mond!" when he makes good play.
Whoa lol, Simms has Mond as his 4th overall QB over Justin Fields and Trey Lance.

@22:55

Simms said he expects to get text messages from his friends in the NFL that go "You jerk! Why did you talk about Kellen Mond? We were hoping nobody would talk about him."

LOLLLLLLLLLL imagine this place if Mond is Shanny's guy.
