Completely warranted or not, fact is, Jimmy g didn't do enough in a freaking Superbowl year to silence his critics - people were already at the least acknowledging that the position was upgradeable. Add in the fact that he's missed as many games as he's played and it's not surprising many are looking to move on despite how good he may be

I know we don't need another WR but if D.Smith is there i don't see how you can pass on him. So explosive. Also, N. Harris would be tough to pass up. All 49ers RB will be free agents in a year and he would give you a franchise back.

Zero chance of Smith being at 12 and Harris at 12 would be 🤮

Thought about that too. It wouldn't matter much who our QB is if we had Smith, Aiyuk, and Deebo.

I'm with you, Mayo.... I would even trade up to get him, if necessary.

Going after a DE at #12 would be very tempting because I think the #1 DE in this draft might be there for the taking. All teams picking ahead of us will be drafting QB, OT,CB, and WR's. Getting another dominant DE to go with Bosa and moving Armstead inside will give us that 2019 Dline and maybe even better. If we trade for Stafford I hope we could do it without having to give up that pick. Maybe we can give up two 2nd's and a 3rd. But that's wishful thinking. Keep Jimmy G and let's enjoy our 10 picks this draft.

If the top 4 QBs are gone, I see us trading back into the 20s to draft Mac Jones. The only other scenerio that would alter this is if one of the top CBs are there for the taking. Then it becomes a very difficult decision. Perhaps we could pick Surtain or Farley at 12 and then trade back up into the 20s to take Jones similar to what we did with Aiyuk last year.

I don't care where we pick or who is deemed worthy at that draft slot etc. If Kyle and John believe there is a QB that can bring home trophies (maybe not year one) when we pick, then they should draft him. Otherwise keep building the team with bpa.
However when we had NO QB Kyle and John chose Solomon Thomas over Patrick Mahomes AND Deshaun Watson so I'm skeptical of their QB evaluations.

I agree and skeptical too.
