Has anyone run a bad 40 this year? The numbers this year across the board are suspect.

I think they're using a regular wrist**tch to time them. Seriously, there is something suspicious. First they aren't all running on the same surface and the timers are different. It wouldn't make sense that there would be so many more sub 4.4 times this year.

There are also like 5+ people timing the 40s so they may just be taking the fastest timed for the "wow" clicks.

I think it was Bama's proday that one of the analysts said one scout had texted him 4.39 or 4.41 for Surtain and another texted him 4.5. So again its more to back up what they see on tape rather than heavily relying on these numbers in some other way.

Daniel Jeremiah also joked that the scout who had the 4.4 must have as a favorite on the big board... funny but could be true as well. In such a weird year, GMs are going to have to sort through allot of scout bias to get a good picture on a prospect.

Ya I think game film will be a bigger part of the decisions than normal without really reliable combine data.

A lot of intriguing prospects with pro days today.

it's not suspect, it's regular pro day numbers, which are usually ignored when there's a combine. All schools benefit from their guys looking better than they really are.
