When did Smtih go to two SBs ?

That would only mean we would have to add a different QB

He didn't, he was the placeholder for 1 playoff berth while Mahomes got ready, then he stepped aside for the hotshot (and they got draft compensation) that's my ideal scenario.

I was in KC tailgating during the Bills/KC game Mahomes rookie year when Smith was still starting. The KC fan I befriended was a HUGE AS fan and told me how big of idiots the rest of the fan base was for wanting to start Mahomes over AS.

That's my thought also. we should take the chance at Adding Watson or move up and get Z Wilson.

A request back to NE I don't think is laughable. Once NE fills their spot and he knows we are moving on he's stuck without a starting job really

I kind of am. IMO I think SF, NE and possibly CHI are only teams I can see him starting for next season.

If he knows we are trying to upgrade and it seems inevitable I'm asking out sooner rather than later trying to secure a starting job before it's too late

If he's gonna be traded no team will trade for him without giving him the starting job with his contract. If he wants to play at that contract then he should be up for a trade to any team.

Also him asking for a trade right now regardless of what's happening would be a major F U to the 49ers and would probably hurt him not only from the PR standpoint(i mean what has he done to request a trade?) but also from the "Hey this guy is a team player" vibe he has now. It also hurts the 49ers from leverage standpoint in moving him or going after another QB.

But you are missing what I'm saying. I'm not saying he'll say trade me. I'm saying he SHOULD be saying I want to be traded to NE.

And yes it would be an F U to SF. My thinking is he's thinking they're giving him an F U for constantly flirting to replace him.

Either way we'll have to give up a lot.

More so w/Watson but he's a "Proven" guy who is young, battle tested and excellent character.
