Possible juice replacement

if we have to let Juice walk to cut cost, i have no issues with Woe

I've never seen Kittle lineup at fullback and meet a LB in the hole or windback on a split zone. 99% of Kittle's blocks are base blocks. They tried with Dwelley, but he got easily stood up and smashed. Too damn tall to play fullback.

This. There's good reason why fullbacks have historically been short, stocky guys. Thick body is good. Height is a liability.
I wonder if Shanny will consider moving away from the FB entirely. McVay does similar things to Shanny by using 2 TEs. You lose the lead blocker, but you make up for it in other ways.

Just find another Delanie Walker but with better hands and have him play everything.

Now there's a guy with the right body type.

Delanie would've been a monster in this offense. He was basically Juice before Juice.

Kittle has lined up at FB, but not to block up the middle. I don't remember us being a running up the middle team. majority it has been on the outside.

i think we can manage without a true FB. Right now it would be a luxury to have juice or even drafting a true FB

Maybe more of a Walker than a Juice?

There aren't enough FB's in college football to even have a single draft site list them as a separate position Niners going to have to look long and hard to find someone that will be able to replace Juice. Woerner and Hokit are already on the roster and have a year under their belts in the system. They have the best chance to replace Juice if he signs elsewhere.

Hokit is a possibility but once again, what team has a 6'5" fullback? We saw Dwelley get wrecked trying to play the position, at some point you're just too tall to consistently hold up there.

I like Tre' McKitty from Georgia as a prospect to partially fill that role. Pretty diverse skill set and used all over the field. Being 6'5 would hinder his ability to block down LBs and CBs but could be a solid Offensive Weapon selection in the 4th or 5th round
Gotta give Josh Hokit a look. We already have him, and he played a similar style to Juice while at Fresno State. Was a lead back at times, and a pretty good receiver. Former wrestling champ and very good on defense...all around tough guy.

Absolutely--he is a swiss army knife! Great call. What round of the draft do you think he might go?

TOMMY, like you said can be a swiss army knife.. he can also play the TE position and he can play that H-Back... which is literally a FB anyways.. plus, he's that type of player w/an OG mentality..

he would be my 3rd round COMPENSATION pick... if we are going to use a FB, then yes, I would use a late 3rd rounder on him... but 1st, Shanny must make up his mind if we are going to NEED one..

if not, then i would wait in the later round and draft this LB from Oregon ( Isaac Slade-Matautia ) and turn him into a FB... he's not going to make it in the NFL as a LB but I think he'll be a fine FB... the kid loves CONTACT !!
